Zombie Con 2006

Thursday June 1st - Sunday June 4th, 2006

Zombie Con is a four-day gathering of Zombie Squad members from around the country who are coming together to share their survival knowledge and just generally have a good time camping in the wilderness with friends.

Zombie Squad will be hosting Z-Con 2006 this year in Irondale, Missouri from June 1st until June 4th. Details below

What will we be doing?

We'll have a loose schedule of events throughout the weekend. Here are a few activities we have planned so far to give you an idea:

  • Set up camp
  • Meet and greet your fellow ZS members
  • Survival Seminars
  • Watch some bad zombie movies
    Friday (6/2):
  • Morning PT
  • Field trip to a local shooting range
  • Survival Seminars
  • Watch more zombie movies
    Saturday (6/3):
  • Morning PT
  • Canoe trip
  • BBQ dinner
  • Watch zombie movies
    Sunday (6/4):
  • Moan about being sore

Some of the survival themed seminars that are scheduled:
  • Field dressing
  • Self Defense
  • Flint napping
  • Zombie Make-up
  • Crop Cultivation
  • Primitive Fire Building
  • Radio Communications
  • Basic Orienteering

There will also be survival themed games throughout the weekend and prizes to win so bring your brains with you.

None of the activities are required to attend so feel free to come even if the trip to the shooting range or the morning Physical Training doesn't interest you. This is a nice sized property so there is plenty of room for hiking and testing out all that survival gear you've been talking about on the internet.

We will also have an electric generator available if you need to charge batteries or run any other small electrical equipment for a short time. This is how we'll be watching movies with a theatre we will be building in the woods, in case you were wondering.

For you airsoft/paintball operators, there will be a field set aside. We will have some airsoft rifles to choose from but you are encouraged to bring your own because we don't have enough for everyone. We can ONLY allow biodegradable paint or pellets on the property so we don't trash the place. We will not have any paintball gear available. We will have some biodegradable airsoft ammo but feel free to bring your own.

Where will it be held?

The gathering will be located on private land in Irondale, MO (about 2 hours south/west of St. Louis). A map and detailed directions to the location will be provided. Since this is private land we don't want to advertise it all over the Internet.

If you will need transportation from St. Louis or from the airport/bus station please contact us ahead of time and arrangements can be made.

How much will it cost?

To cover our expenses and to secure the location for the event for all four days we will asking for $75 per person by May 1st.

This small fee covers the cost of your canoe rental, food all day on Saturday, potable water for the entire weekend, your camping spot, all the bad zombie movies you can force down for four days and lots of good times. In addition to all the coolness above, all attendees will be entered into a raffle for a Garmin Etrex GPS.

We are looking for volunteers to host seminars. If you are interested contact us and we will give you more details. Seminar volunteers have a reduced rate of $50 per person.

How do I sign up?

First, you must be at least 18 to attend. Everyone will be carded when they arrive.

Send an e-mail to camp@zombiehunters.org with your name and address. We'll send you an invoice through paypal with more details about the camp including a waiver that we will need sent back to us.

We must receive payment for registration before May 15th. For more information or to make other payment arrangements send an e-mail to camp@zombiehunters.org or call us at 1-888-495-4052

What will you need to bring?

We will supply all the water as well as breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Saturday. You'll need to bring food for the rest of the weekend in addition to portable shelter, and pretty much anything else you would normally bring camping for four days. This is a great chance to test out your Bug Out gear. We will be sending you a list of recommended supplies to bring with you when you register.

If you have need for electricity during the weekend there will be an electric generator available.

If you need food, a tent or any other supplies but you will not be able to bring them due to your travel arrangements let us know and we can work something out with you. We have some extra tents but they are first come first serve basis.

Other details to note:

Firearms - We will be having a field trip to a local shooting range but if you plan to bring any firearms they must be locked up at ALL TIMES while on the property. You can lock them in your car or there is a cabin on the property.

Alcohol - The legal drinking age will be observed. If you drink we ask that you drink responsibly.

Drugs - We will not be able to supply any form of medication, including anything as minor as aspirin, so be sure to bring your own. And, for the record, we will not tolerate any illegal drug use on the property.
