Ibuprofen is an over-the-counter NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflmmatory drug) pain reliever and anti-inflammatory commonly avilable under many brand names such as Advil(TM) and Motrin(TM). Its versatility and effectiveness make it an excellent component of a first aid kit. Its prescription dose is 800 mg. while the over-the-counter dose is typically 200 mg. per tablet.
