The Desert Eagle is an extremely large and powerful, semi-automatic pistol. It is available in several large calibers, typically reserved for revolvers and carbines.

Variants

• Mark I - Original Desert Eagle in stainless steel or aluminum offered in .357 Magnum and .44 Magnum calibers. Now obsolete.
• Mark VII - Improved Desert Eagle Mk. I (adjustable trigger) offered in .357 Magnum, .41 Magnum, .44 Magnum and .50 Action Express (AE).
• Mark XIX - Improved Desert Eagle Mk. VII with 7/8" rail, more finishes, offered in .357 Magnum, .44 Magnum and .50 Action Express (AE).

Appeal to Survivalists

While the Desert Eagle is primarily a novelty weapon, it does have some appeal as both a psychological weapon and a higher capacity alternative to revolvers since it fires calibers typically too large to be fired from standard semi-automatics.
