I don't have a problem w/ an overnight. I'm okay w/ bugout food *IF* we want.. but we can always just do a cookout or something like that.

btw.. whatever we do we need to have it hammered out here real quick so that I can send in the paperwork to ZS.. as well as let the DFW guys who are wanting to come know.

Friday night to Saturday would work for me, I am planning on taking off on Friday when I get off at 3... that is assuming that my car has been fixed and is out of the shop by then...
BTW if any DFW guys wanted to follow me that would be fine(I live in Fort Worth) and I could leave later if that would work better for anyone who wanted to convoy

Friday night is good for me, I'm also quite happy on bugout food as long as other people aren't making real food :P

Who would do such a dastardly thing as make real food when somebody wants to eat bug out food?

I'm down for a Fri/Sat til noon thing. That way people can come out Sat morning if they want.

I have no opinion on our camping/food arrangements. You tell me what we are doing and I will comply.

OKay, I'm going to officially set out meeting for an overnight for friday/saturday. Anybody that just wants to make one part of it is welcome.. Anybody that wants to spend the night.. kick ass too. As for food. Bugout food or campfire cookout. You guys decide, I don't care either way. The ranch has an outdoor kitche that includes an oven, stove and we have a BBQ grill. There is also cold storage for anything people might want to bring *coughbeercough* If there is anybody that DOESN'T want to spend the night in a tent/outside or whatever we do have a limited amount of space inside, but it's going to be first come first serve.(w/ the exception of my father..)

Let's meet Friday afternoon/evening somewhere in Lubbock so that we can travel as a group. Anybody from Lubbock that DOESN'T want to overnight we can either give directions to or I'll meet you in Crosbyton and lead you the rest of the way out. Saturday we'll plan on doing some shooting and be done by noon.

Okay.. it's set.. and I'm sending the paperwork to ZS.. so no more plan changes.. you guys give me a headache

Okay -

It's offical, as I've sent in the paperwork before you people could raise by blood pressure again :D

We're going to NOW hold an overnight event in Dicken Texas on July 17th & 18th. What we'll do is we'll meet someplace in Lubbock around 4-5pm and drive together out to the Ranch. We'll set up, have dinner, probably make asses out of ourselves and then go to sleep. The next morning we're going to get up and do some shooting while it's early & cool. We'll adjourn after that to TC's Pondarosa for some of the BEST BBQ in Texas.

Some things that we really need to discuss at this event:
Meetings - In August we really need to have public meetings. So far my plan is to hold a meeting in Lubbock and then the Following week at Meeting in Amarillo. These meetings will take place at a public location (ie resturaunt, bar) and we need to advertise them. The objectives of these meetings is to, well, draw new membership and let the community know who we are and what we're doing. Lubbock members are not going to be required to be at the Amarillo meeting or vice versa. If you WANT to come to both meetings, well I'm certianly not going to stop you!

Charity Evensts - Okay guys we've had some good idea for charity events and we've got some things in the works, but I do need some information and ideas from you guys. I'm really busy right now and I'm dying for some help. Remember we HAVE to have 2 charity events a year. That means we have to do 2 in the next 6 months. I perosnally don't think this will be hard, but it is going to take some planning.

Officer's Meeting- Yeah, I know this doesn't include everybody, but we HAVE to have an officer's meeting NEXT month.

That's pretty much everything I've got so far. I'm excited to see everybody in July!!

BTW! I'm having a baby on monday!

EDIT: Anybody that needs camping gear, or anything PM me. Anybody that wants to come on the 18th, but not campout the night beforePM me also and lmk we'll work out a way to get you to the right spot in Dickens.

Congrats on the baby!

I'll reiterate my vote for south plains food bank as a charity event. They supply meals to the boys and girls club as well as the Lubbock soup kitchen and food boxes for underprivileged families. We could all go work a day before our next Lubbock outing and/or get people to pledge to bring a food box (or collect money to donate for the assembly of food boxes). If everybody can spare a day I could contact them and find out when/where we would be of the most use.

I think that's a great idea, and because of my brother I'm in good standing w/ the local Marine Reserve unit. I'm sure that we could get involved w/ toys for tots in some way. I'd also like to get involved with Share the Warmpth. We could do a coat collection or something like that. The Red Cross is also still interested in doing something with us. I'm going to start another thread in here about Charity events, so lets get those ideas rolling.

Unless anybody says otherwise, I am planning on Bugout food. I have some freeze dried that I have to use up anyways. Beef Stew FTW!

Well, I won't be able to make it. I was planning to until my folks showed up. And they are still here. Still hoping to plan an overnight on the Brazos. More on that later.

The meeting went well. We all had a really good time, and shot up some paper pretty badly!! It's good to know that if paper ever attacks I know who to call to quell the uprising. We discussed a couple of things including some charity events and the August meetings in Lubbock & Ama.

Mr. Pliskin is working on getting us the information to get involved with the Lupus walk. THis is great because it's a good charity and he shoots all the publicity for it.
