I stick to Bics these days as I always lose my "in my pocket all the time" lighters.

Step 1: Get a Bic lighter, a piece of paracord about six inches long, and about eight inches of duck tape. Tie an overhand knot in each end of the paracord and then tape it in a loop over the south end of your lighter.

Step 2: Attach the lighter to your keychain via the paracord loop.

Step 3: Enjoy the warm, secure glow that comes with always having a lighter attached to your keys.

Or get one of these.

Update: changed my EDC knife from the Gerber Remix knife (Do not buy. After one day of lite use, cutting rope and some nylon webbing the blade would not lock open.)
Picked up a Kershaw Skyline Love it.
I have much nicer knifes but I try to keep them around 50 ta 60 bucks for EDC.
The nicer ones I save for hunting, fisting and camping.

For current EDC, two security items are always ...

10mm Glock 29 and Benchmade 9050 AFO.
Image

Both are light and portable, concealable, and effective for their intended role.

I carry the following in a Victorinox over the shoulder / fanny pack.

Image

4 q-tips
15 band-aids various sizes
5 4x4 inch sterile guaze pads
3 OTC allergy pills
2 Advil tablets
1 high strength prescription pain pill in case of kidney stones
1 4 inch Ace bandage roll with 2 clips
Wallet
Kahr CW9 7 + 1
IWB belt slide holster
13 loose rounds
Keys
Digital camera (not in photo)
3 inch Buck 285 folding clip knife
Box of matches
Waterproof Curad first aid tape
Germ-X
Neosporin
Compass with magnifier and ruler
Keychain LED light
Ballpoint pen
Business cards (not pictured)
Cell phone (not pictured)

I'll get an extra magazine or two when I can get them on sale. I like the size of the bag a lot. I generally keep the Kahr IWB and not off body in the bag but it varies. I've actually used all of the first aid stuff in the two weeks that I've started carrying this stuff. What else do I need?
