Alpine Tower climb

Postby B3 » Thu Jan 22, 2009 11:31 pm

At the last meeting, I mentioned getting a group together for a climb on the Alpine Tower at Greensfelder County Park. For now, I was thinking sometime in mid-March (maybe Sunday the 15th "Beware the Ides of March!"). I spoke with the coordinator and she gave me some more info:
The group needs to be a minimum of 10 people and a max of 30.
The cost per person would be from $25-$30 for an all-day open climb with a facilitator
The program can be run whenever, except if there is lightning, snow or ice.
Minimum age for the Alpine Tower is 9 years old.

I can e-mail the coordinator if we need more information, but for now, I'd just like to see if anyone is interested and willing to part with their $25-$30. We can barbecue or whatever afterward (just no booze--sorry--park rules) and there are bars/restaurants nearby.

I'll also put an announcement on the ZSC-001 Google group boards, so let me know if this sounds like something we want to do or not--thanks!

EDIT: I realize this is the third Sunday of the month (regular meeting day) but the date is nowhere near set in stone, so it can be adjusted as necessary :D

Unfortunately, it never really got off the ground (haha--a pun!) but if people are still interested, then maybe I can reserve a date.
