I like "stagger" but "shamble" also has resonance. Plus, with "shamble," your mouth is already poised to say, "A shamble! Sh*t!"

Let's see, we could also call them [thumbs through thesaurus] a "shuffle." Oh, no. I feel a rap song coming on:

We had a scuffle with the shuffle / Homeboy got eaten like a truffle / I bugged out wit' my duffle / 'Cause my gun weren't enough full
Judge Rayford: "There's law and there's order. [Pats .45 in shoulder holster] And that's order."

You could have the different words be different amounts. Like "Stagger" is 2-5, "Chunk" is 5-10, "Shamble" is 11-25, and "Throng" is 25-50, with 50+ being "shitstorm".

ok lets think about this. zombies could attack in packs, thus leading to the collective noun "a pack of zombies" but that probably would get confused with some type of beer. i'm all up for calling it a swarm of zombies. sounds cool and sure as hell shows that its dangerous...not to us of course...

A pack almost implies membership or a unified group, like a pack of wolves. Zombies happen to be moving in groups because they all saw food, and they all want to eat, thusforth sending them all in one direction looking like a group.

I say stagger, shamble, shitstorm are pretty good titles.

LMFAO!!! You should form a zombie squad rap group, Z-UNIT!!! J/K Back on subject, I agree, a stagger sounds good, but will it matter what we call them when they're attacking?

Well, when TSHTF, we can't afford to be bogged down in debate over details like this, can we? That's why we're preparing now.

Yeah. And then when there's like a group of zombies coming no one will know what to call them. That would cause confusion because some people might not know that a stagger is a group of zombies.

After the effort we've gone to, what with the website and the debate and all, if they didn't know a group of zombies was called a stagger, they were probably destined to be confused and eaten anyways. This will help those who have a chance of surviving.

Shitstorm, i like it.

But..only if there in large groups.

And if they were alone we could call them shitheads. :)

I am partial to:'Zaggle'. The 'Z' is from Zombies. The 'z' replaces the 'g' in Gaggle. This leaves a Zaggle. A Zaggle of Zombies, That's got a nice ring to it no? Used in a sentence: I was chased by a Zaggle of Zombies in the PAW!

I'd go with "stagger" for a handful of zombies, enough to count with your fingers, "shamble" for a farily large group which is still combatable, while "horde" works for more than you can handle.

I am very partial to 'stagger'.

I would like to add possibly a 'blister', 'pustule', or a 'fester' of zombies.

Maybe even perhaps a 'MarshaMellow' of zombies.

I think a 'Romero' is ladleing it on too much. Maybe a 'George'?

Bub as in Day of the Dead?

Sounds good, but lurch shouldn't be used more than once. Even if they are close to the same.

A half of a "romero" could be a "george".

I still like "shamble" for a group of walking, deceased bio-sacks.

I was writing some stuff, but we should get a script-writing group together...ZS the Movie would rock.

I like the undead angle to the whole thing, a "grave" or a "cemetary"

I mean, the term for a group of crows is a "murder," why not something that has nothing to do with zombies? A "clown" of zombies, maybe.

Another "can" of worms.
Crows have been associated with death for hundreds of years. They eat carrion.
So "clown" is out.
