When the assisted opening made the knife jump out of his hand I shouted, "Phurba! NO!" He gave me a weird look but started laughing. Then I told him, "I saved your life, Eddie ----. Now it belongs to me." He laughed again and said he still wasn't going to give me a raise.

I was basically completely positive that if I whipped out the CRKT-M1613Z in my pocket, they would freak out, so I didn't.
However, my sister IMMIDIATELY started talking loudly about how I had a knife, pulled it out of my pocket for me, and handed it to a girl neither of us knew. The first girl was a little weirded out but apparently thought better of being rude and handed it back, but one other girl started freaking out, talking to a person in charge who happened by and saying things like, "You guys got people with knives here and stuff!" Thank God the guy she was talking to was reasonable. He asked me if I threatened anyone with it, I told him that I hadn't and that I use it to open boxes and packages at work. He replied to keep it in my pocket and that was that.
I still haven't forgiven my sister for it.
NOBODY reaches for my knife (benchmade griptillian clipped to trousers-pocket) without at least a broken nose...
If they want to use it, they can kindly ask me and if I'm not sure about wheather to thrust someone with it, I'll just ask them what needs to be cut and I'll do it for them...
You should definitely be careful who you thrust with your knife...
P.S. - So you would have broken your sister's nose?

or undo whatever it is you've just helped with your tool (take back the tape, re-do the screw, etc), and say "good point - none of this stuff is useful at all". then walk away.
