It is.. And it can become a pain in the ass.. Being into SAR / EMD / ARES, RACES / Severe WX / Red Cross and being the counties b*tch I am always connected. I generally wear BDU's so I have lot's of pockets or I end up looking like I have a batman belt on. :)

Gods holy trousers, so what you're really saying here is:

I carry two cell phones
two radios
three knives
three pistol mags
two tools

Or something like that.

I mean, if you're happy with all that, fine, its your life. But I think its a stupid amount of kit.

I know what a pain in the ass carrying all that comms gear can be. One trick I learned to keep from carrying my pager was to have my vertex vhf programmed to detect my specific pager tones. When on this dedicated frequency, my radio would lock out all traffic until it detected my tones, then would monitor like a normal pager. This allowed me to dump that heavy ass Minotaur 3, but not have to listen to everybody else's chatter. I don't know if this is an option, but might be worth a look. Also, like you, I sometimes carry two firearms, but I don't carry any reloads. Just curious, but why 1 reload, not 2 or even none?
Oh squiggly line in my eye. I see you there lurking on the periphery of my vision. But when I try to look at you, you scurry away. Are you shy squiggly line? Why only when I ignore you do you return to the center of my eye? Oh squiggly line it's all right you are forgiven.

On the programming thing, my 2180 will do it. I've got it set up, I just like to have the radio with me for when I do need it.

Reloads? Well I carry one mag in my pocket. It fit's and I can be comfortable with a spare mag. Since its freezing cold in Michigan I'm stuck wearing a coat. So I carry a few spare's in my coat also. And yes I practice doing reloads from my pocket and from my coat.

Tomorrow I'll snap a pic of the ones I carry in my coat. I made a cheap mag holder for them from a black berry holster. It was free and it works awesome!

With the Kimber, I haven't gotten comfortable enough with it yet to call it my primary and probally wouldnt EDC a spare mag for it.

I always carried at least 2 spare mags . Most failures are mag related , so it made sense to me to have multiple mags available .

Another thing to consider is battery standardization.
When I started loading my murse I made a conscious decision to go with AAA as much as possible, until I got my Surefire- then I standardized with the CR-123. There's 8 CR123 and there's another half dozen in my B.O.B. There's probably a couple of AAA's still in my bag, just like there's probably a couple itty bitty band-aids in my FAK, but the weight you can save by just carrying a single battery size could allow you to put something more useful in there (like maybe a couple Cliff bars or something)

I agree about the battery standardization. Tonight hopefully I'll be taking pics since I'm stuck at work and do a major update to my Murse...

Well I was doing some updating of pictures and posts this week. So here is my latest Murse. This isn't really my bob or my GHB. It’s my extended EDC which will get me through most issues in my day that I may face. It’s also the one bag that I grab when walking out the door at home or if I have to leave my car for whatever reason and ride with someone else. If I'm at work its with me near my "cubby" if I'm in the car its ridin with me. I generally don't lug it everywhere though when I leave the car.

The bag is a maxpedition colossus with a mini rolly poly attached to it.

I carry the following in the bag:
4 Clif Bars - Various flavors
1 Mini Deck of cards
10 AA batteries
10 AAA batteries
3 Spare PM9 Mags
1 Mini Crow bar
1 Ti Spork
1 LMF Spork
1 bottle of pepto
1 bottle of anti-poo
1 blister pack of anti-gas
1 bottle of Excedrin Migraine
1 spare AA battery for my Icom 92AD
1 Bruton Monocular
1 Stream light Micro Stream (was my EDC)
25 FT of Para Cord
1 LED Head Lamp - Petzl Tikka XP with red filter
1 Timex Watch with Compass - I don't wear it generally unless I have to
2 NFPA rated carabineers
1 Spare battery and Charger for my Cannon SD1000
1 Cannon SD1000 4 Gig card
2 Packs of chicken bouillon (vac sealed and dated)
1 tube of glucose
1 mini FAKS
1 roll of electrical tape
1 Mini USB charger for blackberry / mini usb devices
1 spool of fishing line
1 pack of fishing hooks
1 4 in one tool (2 Phillips heads and 2 regular blade)
1 rite in rain note book
1 mini sewing kit (its in 2 parts but it makes up the hole)
1 cheapo butane lighter
5.00 In loose change (in the mini fak)
5.00 in various change wrapped in masking tape in 1.00 increments
1 energizer emergency recharger for my phone - mini usb
1 coast 3 AAA, 149 Lumens light output model # TT7736TSCPSE
2 pairs of nitrile gloves and CPR mask
1 knit hat
1 Aspire One Netbook with Windoxs XP 160GB HD Bluetooth mod and 1.5 gb of ram and 6 cell battery
1 battery operated lightstick red
1 whistle
1 mini roll of duct tape
1 LMF fire starter
3 mini sausages and mustard
1 bag of jacklinks thai jerky (not shown)
1 bag of jacklinks a1 beef nuggets (not shown)
1 liter camelbak better bottle (not shown)
2 mini non loadbearing biners
1 Garmin GPS 60CSX
1 Garmin Nuvi (not shown)
1 pair of prescription sun glasses (not shown)

If I was going to carry this bag with me everywhere I would add a few N95's and probally another cheapo 1.50 multi led flashlight. My situation though is most the time I'm within a block of home unless on a SAR call or at the EMD office and I have my car which well has more fun stuff in it. I'll be posting pics of whats in my trunk soon.

Where did you find the small bottle of Pepto? I'll need to look for the Equate anti-dia. next time I'm in Wal-mart.

Any pharmacy.. These are the pepto pills. Between that and the anti-poo your pretty much set for most stomach ailments. I carry a big bottle of tums in my SAR deployment bag also.

Had an ER doc tell me the pepto pills are really the only thing that works reliably on serious tummy ailments (on a trip to the ER for a world class case of food poisoning). The G/F was half dead between vomiting and diarrhea and after 2 hits of the pepto pills and IV fluids in the ER she was right as rain.
