Thanks Agent_Jaws (and sorry to de-rail your thread Gunny),

Great food for thought.
I might just c+p your comments into the thread that's got the "public meditation" on the pack system I'm investing in if that's okay with you...

np, I actually modeled my system a lot after Gunny's setup, he's got a great rig. Just beware that once the Kifaru has you, there's no getting out!

Cheese and Rice, Gunny, that bag weighs more than you. Oh well as long as you can beat feet with it it's ok.

any chance you guys have any updates on your BoBs? Im surprised this is not a sticky post so that newbies can atleast get some gear in line.

We have gear lists starting with BoB all the way up to starting a village.

I will post my BoB soon, and mine has been field tested. Been ruckin' for many years so I might have a few bugs worked out.

Check out the sticky that I have up there. I'm working (full time after tomorrow) on establishing a thread to end all threads on how to build a BOB.

I"ll have an update during that time as well, my BOB's came along pretty nicely.

One does have to admit that your BOB is one of the more superior ones, of this forum. I could take your BOB and use it as an INCH pack, if coupled with my weapons set up. MultiCam is so expensive though, if you get the true Crye MultiCam gear like Kifaru. I think I'll stick with SnugPak as my main bag.

Also, somehwere on here there's a dude from Iraq that has his EMR I think, or some big one, with a zulu I think piggybacked, and THAT looks like a HUGE system.

It's an MMR, next stepdown from the EMR btw.

One day, that will be my INCH setup. Only in MultiCam. 8)

I'm halfway there, I figure; I've got the Zulu and the back pouches. I just need the EMR.

Why'd those jerks have to go and raise my credit limit enough that I could actually just order one right now, without making sure I get a raise so I can pay it off when the bill comes?

[quote="Gunny"]Okay here's a new series:

Image

This is my current BOB. I'm waiting on a few more items to come in before I move completely into the EMR system. Since it's a single tube design, I'll have some organizational issues until my Foldout system and extra pouches comes in.

The pack is Sarah's old Northface Day hiker. It's compartmentalized into three main compartments, which are laid out below.

Image

Here are the first pocket's contents. Inside you'll find:
(2) H&H Pri-Med Gauze in its vaccum packed sleeve
(1) 1.75oz Packet of Quik Clot
(1) Israeli Compression bandage, 4" model
(1) Charmin to go roll of toilet paper (thanks for the idea Grifter)
(1) Notepad holder complete with:
(1) Adult Epi-Pen
(1) Space Pen
(1) Write in the rain tablet

Space pen is cool but comming from someone who uses "Rite in Rain" pads daily I recommend a pencil. They are far more effective when actually writing in the Rain. otherwise the contents look great.

Maybe this sounds like an odd question, but here goes...

Why does no one have spare keys in their BOB?

I don't forget where I put my keys too often but I imagine that if I were in a hurry, say bugging out, it would be nice to be able to grab my bag and go.

I though I might attach a key ring with spares on my BOB (in progress) with a quick disconnect.

Good idea, I guess it's one of those things you figure you'll grab on the way like the wallet with the credit cards in it.
