Something Awful officially mocks ZS. God help us.

We'll be keeping a log of ZS sighting in news and media. If you spot an article about us somewhere post it in here.

My guess, it's zero...zero...zero...

They raised about a hundred thousand bucks for Katrina in like 3 days.

They do charity work from time to time, like Kyle said.

Hell, they even had a fund drive to purchase body armor for guys deployed in Iraq that didnt have any early in the war. I think they bought about 40 vests and shipped them over.

Theres good people there, we just got caught in the crossfire of them being jackasses. I'm surprised that they didnt take the easy way out and use the pictures here of 8 year old kids holding weapons like most people do when they want to make fun of us.

Well, I'm glad to hear that they do charity work. I've never visited their web site and had no idea.

Many things that appear on the main page are pretty nasty so be warned. I used to frequent there often but only really for the "Photoshop Phridays"

Comedy Goldmine and Photoshop Friday were some of my favorites, but they don't really seem to be trying any more.

In addition to the charity work, they have also been responsible in getting some pedophile sites noticed by the media. If they find something truly offensive, the forum goons can generate enough traffic to disrupt sites, ala Slashdot in the late 90s.

From the things that I have seen from SA over the years, this is incredibly mild. They poked some fun at us, but they could have been much worse if they really wanted to. Hopefully this will draw some attention from folks who have a better understanding of what it is that we are really trying to accomplish and we can get some different insight from folks who would have never found us otherwise.

If I'd never heard of ZS that SA feature would have impressed me with:

a) the concept of a Zombie Squad

b) the practical nature nof ZS charity work

c) the intelligence, maturity and sense of humour of the ZS posters.

If this was supposed to be a hatchet job, it failed miserably. It was more like an advertisement.

If they really wanted to be mean they couldve simply quoted everything that GunDown has ever posted...then people would assume we were evil drunks who like to shove kitties into boxes... :D

It seems rather petty and ironic to me that a site claiming to be more 'down-to-earth' than us should seek to mock our obviously charitable actions/discussions. Who's next Oxfam?

Regardless, if they want to spend their time mocking the charity of others let em, leaves us free to consentrate on preparation and other selfless projects (Aka Blood/Food/Supply Drives) which are making a difference to people who need it.

You know.. I was thinking.. This is sub par and I'm insulted that they were so gental about it. I've seen them crush websites before. I'm feel cheated.

We could trash ourselves much better than that. Let's write up a better and actually funny trashing of ourselves and send it in to them. :)

As yet another random goon piping in, I think you guys got off light. Really. Most of the Weekend Web/ALoD stuff covers truly depraved/retarded subjects. It must've been a slow week.

The site/frontpage is really nothing compared to the forums, which is a humungous community of (for the most part) pretty sharp people. I wouldn't even think of attacking them on their charity. They did raise some money for body armor for troops in Iraq (some or all of which was subsequently refused, I can't remember) and tons for Katrina aid.

I really think you got a good smattering of publicity without being overly humiliated.
Zombies are people, too. well, were.. =(

Who the hell would refuse body armour for their troops? Who ever it was should be forced to serve on the frontlines buck ass naked.
Anyway, no one here would say a bad word about anyone supporting a charity. Thats what Zombie Squad is all about. We're just a little sore someone would take a pop at us when as you say, SA usually targets pretty fucked up sites. It's even more insulting when the article was poorly written and not very funny. Thats why a few folks have said they'll take the piss out of themselves properly and show the author how it's done.

Yeah... I could have done a much better job of making fun of us. Their take wasn't even that funny. There is PLENTY of great material in this forum for making fun of ZS.
