Congratulations! You have survived the trek into the wild...

...along with roughly ten percent of the population of the nearby metropolitan wonderland you called home before the pandemic Candida infestation reduced humanity to a writhing mass of frenzied scratching and effervescent funk.

So there you are, along side 170,000 other head scratching refugees amid nature's splendor with no infrastructure, no sanitation, no property rights, and no law enforcement, just the junk you have in your pack. Do you keep walking? Stay and cobble together a log cabin suburb? Head back from whence you came and endeavor to reclaim something from the rubble?
Are we not drawn onward, we few, drawn onward to new era?

I not sure I would characterize it like that. There will always be sub-groups of people in a large group of people. Some of these sub-groups will be racist or violent or religious nut-bags and most likely all three at once. Supplies will be jockeyed for by mafia-like gangs and militias with a pot-potpourri of various ideologies and ethnic make-ups. This happens already in currently existing refugee camps all over the world. So, it is not like there will be merely 170000 random individuals.

So, like said above, I would keep walking to some place more isolated from the giant mob.

Keep walking; but...

Teams, no matter what form they take, perform better. Watch and see who else is breaking away from the pack and go with one of them. Choose wisely.
Live in the moment but try to think days ahead.

It is beyond boring but watch one of the competitive international marathons for ideas.
It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see.

You made a bad mistake,

You came south

The nice thing about being over the hill is you get to coast the rest of the way.
