Closing down the shop.

Post by Blackdog » Mon Sep 08, 2014 9:57 am

This will not be intended end to gain pity or prays, it is purely an observation on the way the world works.

A few days ago ago I was happily grinding out a job at a remote site and had even packed a kit for a little after hours adventure with maybe a short ZS report thrown in . What happened was that fairly quickly I found myself unable to find things I had just set down and becoming confused shortly later thanks to a really good guy who made a call I was on a air evac suffering a sea sure.

Bottom line they scooped out some of my brain and I have untreatable brain tumor. Ha, kick inthe balls.

So if you guys don't hear to much more out of me be aware that I have enjoyed the give and take of ZS over the years and feel like a have at least a few kindred spirits and perhaps some folks I could have been real friends wth given the opertunity, thank you for that.

Now my attention turns to assuring that my small tribe is taken care of for the days and years ahead. No easy task but doable.

Just remember, we really neverl know what the day brings and the best we can shoot for is to take care of our small tribes and get on with it.

Brother wow. That's hard for sure. I am so sorry to hear this. Nothing is done till it's done so with luck you'll be running around those hills 100% soon.

Blackdog, I have appreciated your presence here since your first day. You will be in my thoughts, for what that is worth, and you have my best wishes as you walk this new and troubling road.

Well... Shit, man. I don't have much that's useful to say, other than fight the good fight and take care of yourself, whatever that entails. Best of luck.

I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

Sounds like you have your priorities set pretty well. The only advice I can give is if you can get SSI hammered out ASAP as a "just in case". Keep active and keep your mind off things, best of luck.

That's terrible. I know we're just a couple of guys on an Internet forum, but I'm truly saddened by the news.

I've always enjoyed viewing the posts of your adventures. You'll be missed. I appreciate your letting us know and not leaving us to wonder where you'd wandered off to.

Do what you gotta do. And to echo the others, it ain't over until the box is in the ground, so try to keep your feet and knees together.

All the best,

I'm so sorry to read this. Beyond that I can't think of anything to say that remotely covers the magnitude of what you and yours are facing. Prayers offered for you.

That's jacked up.

I enjoyed reading your posts, seeing the pics of the places you camped and hearing your opinions on gear in PM's.

Judging from the pics and stories you've lived your life well, so even if things do turn out for the worst you have that. Some people just stayed at home, you didn't. Glad I got to get to know you a little even if it was just over the net. Take care and I hope things turn out better then you think and you get to stick around for a bit longer. They're often wrong on the timeline.
