quick edit: if you need to get into your blowout kit, chances are your hands are bloody and slippery. Getting grippy tabs on slick plastic is a good thing.

Yes.

Anyone ever get the ITS Kit or build their own or the Pocket Patrol one... and would like to give their thoughts?
Does your BOB at least have: water, basic tools, fire, food, first-aid kit, and shelter?

Unfortunately Murph, as you know, most places soak you for shit instead of giving decent prices. I usually make FA kits for friends but I have and continue to use and give out the Rescue essentials stuff. I've kind of "had it" w/most companies egos and bullshit so if RE or tac med solutions doesn't sell it, I probably don't need it.

Thanks... I'm trying to come up with a decent pocket sized solution, but the level of care always seems to be compromised by the small size.

I ordered the new flat H and new flat OALES from RE yesterday for T&E. I will post up a review when they arrive. They are listed as 3/4" and 1" thick respectively.

I've got a couple flat packed H-Bandages, and I think it's a vast improvement space-wise from the rolled up packing, but they're still too big for a back pocket.

Both fit a kit pouch easier; both are too big for pocket carry other than in a big cargo pocket. (which the others fit, too)

I have the ITS EDC, the Rescue Essentials Kit, AND I rolled my own. I will try to get pictures and such of my own soon.

The ITS kit sits in a small EDC bag I never carry. It is a good idea, but the price point is off. I bought it to support Bryan, he is a good dude, know him personally, and have followed ITS since its beginning. The RE kit is a little more practical for the price, I have them stashed in a few places. And, my own version is a backup kit in my EDC bag.

From the shooting in College Station Texas yesterday:
http://www.kbtx.com/home/headlines/Cell ... tleSummary

The cell phone video was recorded by Rigo Cisneros a former Army medic who lives on Fidelity.

Cisneros tells News Three that he heard the gunshots and went outside to see if he could help.

Police held him back until the scene was cleared and then he helped perform CPR on Brazos County Constable Brian Bachmann, who later died.

Relevant to us all: you better be ready for self aid, as the help (qualified civilian or EMT) won't be allowed in until the police have everything cleared. 20 minutes can be the rest of your life.
