So i have shot a lot and never had a problem. The news reports dont give any extra info so im wondering how a bullet starts a fire?
I have employed all my boy scout abilities trying to start a fire with flint and steel and i can never get a spark to catch unless i use a magnesium stick.
So are they shooting something explosive or shooting tracers? Even if you shoot rocks i dont think the spark would catch. the only reason magnesium does is because it burns like 10 times hotter than a normal spark.
im also concerned about restrictions being placed. If they do i fear in coming years it will only get worse because if shooting leads to just one fire after restrictions are in place people will argue one is too many and they will completely ban target shooting.
Utah gov says only legislature can make laws against it

So is legislature going to restrict it?
This whole thing makes me mad. Like the gov said there cant be laws to cover everything and if they start restricting it, it just wont end.
