I saw this movie Saturday while beating the heatwave and blackout in one of the few multiplexes that had power in Fairfax county.
Compared to Armageddon, Deep Impact or that 1970's made for TV movie "Fire in the Sky" where a comet hits Phoenix, this is a much superior movie.
Steven Carell and Kiera Knightly deliver tremendous performances. They are supported by an excellent cast of actors that you will immediately recognize but probably won't be able to name.
This movie is funny and it makes you think. It makes you think about the things we put off, missed opportunities, things we say or should have said. It makes you wonder if you should try meth. Should I stop exercising or finally start training to run a marathon.
This movie has heroics, but not the kind that involve big explosions or awesome Jason Bourne martial arts. A good movie, doesn't just entertain it makes you think. This movie does it in spades. I will keep prepping for The End Of The World As We Know It, but I'm not going to worry about The End Of The World.
Priests and cannibals, prehistoric animals
Everybody happy as the dead come home
Big black nemesis, parthenogenesis
No-one move a muscle as the dead come home
