Total 800-1000
800-1000 bucks for a good basic fighting rifle when i use my Olympic Arms lower reciever group....Then once i can afford it i'll build my own PSA lower group and slap my BCM upper on it and then have two ARs. One for fighting, One for training/plinking
sounds good?

IMO, pass on the muzzle brake and recoil pad. AR-15s don't recoil that much, use of a sling is much better at controlling recoil as well as stance and grip on the rifle. The negatives of the muzzle brake by far out weight it's positives. Brakes are loud, add flash which kills night vision and are only useful if you need that extra 0.1 second. I highly suggest either a Vltor A1 or Vortex, both virtually eliminate flash.

Sure it is. However, the AR-15 is very light recoiling. I'd advise working on your stance and use of sling rather than a muzzle device and a recoil pad. Muzzle brakes on ARs are not mean to reduce recoil but to keep the muzzle on target during rapid fire.
So if you're dumping 6 rds into a target at 10m and you want stay on target a muzzle brake can help but your stance and use of a sling has to be there too. I just want to suggest using technique over gear.

I'm sure I'll get a bunch of "instead of that, why don't you..." replies, but truth is I'm stubborn and what I've chosen for an upper is an Adams Arms .223 16" upper, now I need a lower. Looking for a solid set up for under $400. I've been trying to get ahold of a Spike's Tactical, seeing how their warehouse isn't but 30 minutes from my home town, but it seems that like every other arms manufacturing company around, their demand far exceeds their supply. In short:
Looking for suggestions on a AR .223 complete lower for under $400... Anyone?

True 'nuff that. But as a very new gun owner, I was shocked by how little recoil my AR had (my Beeman RS2 spring piston pellet gun feels like it kicks more). And those bruises on my shoulder after shooting a fellow ZS'er's Mosin Nagant and 12 gauge shottie were hardly subjective.........

Warriorpwnsyou wrote:RickOShea wrote:I presume that you mean "complete" with stock assembly, but which one in particular (A1, A2, M4, MOE, etc, etc...) ?
My plan is to do the whole MOE thing (stock and pistol grip). So while it'd be nice to find one already set up, like Spike's are, I'd have no problem with just adding them later. I guess what I'm really asking for is where to purchase from... I've seen plenty of complete lowers "for sale" only to find that they're currently put of stock. Talk about cock blocking

Wish I could tell you for sure; I just checked mine but there isn't any kind of markings on it (besides the classy PSA logo on the buffer face).
I'd have to think it would be a carbine weight buffer. Without knowing what the end user is going to build, that's far and away the most prevalent build.

You just described my AR. Whatever the hell buffer weight it is, the PSA lower build kit will serve you just fine.

I plan to go with the Surefire RTS sights and a Harris bipod on a 16" Noveske N4.
