What difference will the fly make? ... I'm in a hammock plenty of ventilation lol

JTNieman: Man, go to the surplus store or REI and get a 8x10 or a 10x12 silnylon tarp, for real. They're about $40 but they're much lighter than a blue tarp and they dont make a flapping noise that will make everyone around you want to murder you and then wrap your body in that fucking tarp.

The blue tarps really suck for noise and weight, and the sil-nylon ones are some of the most versatile items in my entire camping box.

Eerie quiet: The fly on a tent clips to the poles of the tent and effectively negates all airflow. On a hammock, the rain fly *is* a tarp. If you rig the fly for rain (i.e., lower it down to where it almost touches the sides of the hammock) you'll see how miserable it can get.

Yea, I'll be happy to buy it off you. I mainly want it for people that wanna shoot my mosin pistol / obrez.

back to the topic of ammo... how many people are bringing an ar? are we planing on doing a swap trial thing where we play with other guns and oogle at them? and if so is it byoa or potluck?

onto the rain fly delima.. if you are using a hammock.. use some branches/ logs to build a frame like construction on the wind side of your hammock.. making it a wall with an awning! Forgot to add for the literal people here.. put your fly/tarp around the frame after you make it

Oh, count me in for that. Southwest won't let me check ammo, but I can bring stripper clips, if I can find them before I leave tomorrow.

Is that just a southwest rule? Because i know tsa rule is it just has to be in a purposed case for ammo (i.e. manu case or partitioned ammo case)

http://www.southwest.com/html/customer-service/baggage/special-luggage-pol.html

It basicly comes down to weight restrictions on ammo (and having it in a proper container). I just flew southwest with 200rds of 9mm two months ago.

Yeah, bring your own ammo and dollar bills. This thing has such a reputation that I'm charging for access to it

Looks like the weather forecast is putting us with rain on wednesday/thursday, possibly.

I've seen Manbath stretch all the way to the highway during flash floods, and looking like class 5 rapids. If it starts raining get the hell out of Manbath! It's not likely to happen but the time I'm referring to we saw the water rise from slightly above normal levels to the highway in about a half hour. Those of you who know the area know that you'd long gone before the water got that high. The next day there was a dead deer and pig stuck in the logs just above the falls. Even they got caught in the flash flood. Luckily we were parked across the road. This kind of thing doesn't happen often though and almost certainly not in the summer.

Any word on the Chinese Wonder Shovel yet? I'm trying to figure out how much cash to bring.

Unfortunately, I couldn't get enough people together in time. But since you're near STL I'll keep you on the list for an eventual buy.

crypto,

I'll bring some .45 to feed the beast if I can use it at range day. I have to drive the entire width of IL to get to Z-Con from PA. I am very reluctant to drive thru IL with my firearms, but I would like to do range day anyway.
