Ordered a pair of Bates after seeing so many positive reviews. Hopefully they'll get here soon so I can give em a good workout this summer.

They are waterproof, durable as hell, and the most comfortable pair of boots straight out of the box that I've ever put on. I've been wearing the same pair for a couple years now and they look a lot dirtier than these, but are still in great condition.

For military footwear my Blackhawk Warrior Wear Desert boots were easily the most comfortable and the pair of Rocky's I was issued (the S2V style, but I'm not sure exactly, I'd have to get back home and look at them) was probably the most durable while being pretty comfortable also.

I'm starting to get turned off on Bates. I've got a pair of Bates side zips. Had them a little over a year and the had to Gorilla glue the soles a few times now. Took forever to break in and overall just not a great boot.

I picked up a pair of their lightweight USMC boots to wear while at work and the soles were gone after about 10 months. I know their lightweights have soft soles but common give me at least a damn year for 130 dollar pair of boots :vmad:

I'm looking at some Belleville Sidezips at the clothing store right now that I might pick up for off duty wear. The sage green blends in well here in Tx also.

Well it's a he'll of a time to get this kind of feedback. Guess what ups delivered just today. Oh well, at least I only paid about 70 shipped. Hopefully I'll get my money out of them.

On a penny budget, but I got a nice pair of Lacross on the way, ordered them at the local Sportsmans Warehouse. Ill post pix/vid when I get them. Full leather, 8", brown color. Goretex, aggressive tread... The ones I tried on had insulation, I ordered a pair without for summer hiking/woodz walking.. They felt like tennis shoes. Like I said, Ill give a proper review after Ive worn them on some outings.

I guess I'm a little different than most, but I like a good solid work boot. I wear a pair of Carolina model 1821 logger style steel toe boots for work everyday. I also had a pair of old Redwing 10" logger style boot. I used these boots a lot up in the timber and playing in the rocks with the jeep.

So far I'm loving my Bates c3s. I spent so long skimping on footwear I forgot what a pleasure well made boots are to wear.

My situation is a bit unusual because I had both of my ankles surgically reconstructed about 8 years ago from a motorcycle accident.
Since my accident I had not been able to wear anything aside from Nike Shox tennis shoes. I had spent TONS of money trying every doctor recommended shoe I could find including countless insoles ranging from cheap to expensive. I can walk/hike all day in Shox but really can't run without pain and standing for long times at all causes stiffness and discomfort.

I decided I needed to try again. So I started hunting around reading everything I could. Finally after talking to a guy on another forum that had a similar injury to one ankle, I decided to take his recommendation and give the Danner Striker II GTX GoreTex Waterproof Duty Boot a try. I was very skeptical because of all the past failed attempts but I was so desperate for something to hike and ride in that I decided to spend the cash.

Hands down best decision I ever made. I did add some shock absorbing insoles to them and after a short breakin period took them on a 5 mile hiking trip with a 30 pound pack (which is 1/4 of my body weight). I learned two things from that trip. 1. 30 pounds is WAY too much for my fitness level and 2. these boots are completely f'n awesome.
I am so impressed with these boots I plan on buying another pair or two just in case they get discontinued.

I would recommend these to everyone and they have a money back guarantee (if you don't wear them outside first).

Paladium Pampa's.

They weigh less than a pair of Converse All Stars, are extremely comfortable, and look passable with a pair of jeans in the city. Available in a wide variety of colors, for $55 shipped.

When I was out fighting the blue ninjas I would wear these Chocolate colored Belleville flight boots. loved them. All the cool kids had them so I made sure to fit in once I got on flight orders :awesome:

When it was time to look pretty in cammies I made sure to wear my issued Danners. They saw plenty of powerpoints, safety standdowns, Cpl's Course, MCMAP, and formations

Our crew are always wanting those chocolate Bellevues. Hard to get though supply here is lazy.

I'm about to order a set of these I've seen a lot of positive reviews.

Nothing special, I'm just wearing these boots from Aldo...

I don't believe in spending too much in footwear because they do wear out and I'm always replacing them.

I also have a pair of water shoes in my pack, which are great loungers as well as climbing shoes... and of course, water shoes.

Some of the higher end boots you can send off to have re-soled/re-worked to be basically new again. Kinda like they used to did in the olden days. Now footwear is considered a throwaway item.

My newest pair of boots are the black Rocky S2V's. I got 'em for work. Nice boots! Very well made...rugged, but relatively lightweight...solid stitched soles (versus glued soles that fall apart). I'm happy with them.

Image

I got 'em for a great deal, too...Around $150 w/free shipping. Most places have them for $200 or more. If I had the spare cash, I'd get a pair in the Sage Green or Coyote for wearing outside of work.
