Interestingly, both instances involved charging boars. And both Winchesters had bent lifters gumming-up the works.
I've never had that problem with any of my Marlins.

There's one on page 13 of this very thread.
RickOShea wrote:brothaman wrote:RickOShea wrote:The Rossi 92 is a copy of the Winchester 92.
The 92s are for pistol caliber length cartidges, while the Win 94 design can accommodate both pistol and rifle length cartridges.
Gotcha. Also,.. I'd need to check the width of the receiver vs the rear sight because the question had nothing to do with a scope rail.
The coffee has kicked in now. I'm back on my game.
**XS lists a Ghost RIng Sight for the rossi 92.**
In that case, he could simply get the XS sight that's made for the Rossi 92.![]()
Also, I'm leery of the pistol caliber Winchester 94s. I have been witness to two of them (a .357 mag and a .44 mag) being rendered inoperable from being short-stroked.
For a pistol caliber levergun, I stick with the Rossi 92 and Marlin 94.

*facepalm* How the hell did I miss those?? LOL.
Emailed XS sights about whether or not they can ship to NZ.
Cheers guys!

MVegas wrote:Yeah I think it's a top-eject '94 (not 100% certain because of the photo angle), so pre-'83 production. Beyond that, I don't know the Winchesters well enough to tell you any more. Looks like it's in good condition though. There may be a way to determine externally if it is a pre or post '64 gun, but if so I don't know what it is.
You say you doubt it is what you want- are you looking for something specific?

1894 in .357. Almost impossible to come by up here. Lots of 30-30 or .32s, but people are either holding onto their .357's, or they're bought up so quickly I haven't found one in the past year.
