So, back to the WWYD...

If I were convinced this was NOT a fluke, I'd leave the kids where they are (at BOL for the holiday weekend by chance), and since we're gographically distant from FL, make a run with extra vehicles and adults (also at BOL for holiday) down to my place as I have a number of bug in supplies not duplicated at BOL. Return to BOL, and stay there and monitor. IF no panic buying, add to supplies. If panic buying stay the hell away from town. (And be thankful this has happened at a time when I'm not working, so I don't have to choose between caution and my job.)

As it happens, I am very unconvinced, but will watch the news. (Doitinstyle1, thanks for your updates, restraint, and sense of humor.)

Hit up the local fetish or pet supply store and get a nice thick studded leather collar to wear. Maybe a full face motorcycle helmet or gimp mask in case of face bity. Of course wearing that stuff in Floridian heat and humidity might be so maddeningly uncomfortable as to make me part of the problem....

Seriously, given what I know about the two incidents, I'd do what I already do which is stay away AMAP from people who use drugs, and places frequented by people who use drugs. Stay off sidewalks and causeways and such for awhile, and where legal pack a little somethin' just in case, and give a wide berth to people who are naked where I don't expect naked people to be.

I just saw confidential, leaked pics of everything. They were SUPER gruesome! Apparently he gouged and eye out and ate that too. The guy's face even after they cleaned it up was horrific. There isn't a horror flick that can duplicate what I just saw.

Well this thread was not actually meant to be a dupe, it seems though most everyone ignored the OP and just went into discussing the event and commenting on it, rather than the OPs original intent of using this event as a what if this was the event that started ZPAW, what would you do, what are your plans etc?

As for the OPs original intent for this thread.

What would I do if this were the 1st report of the impending ZPAW.

1) Strap on my pistol, load my SKS and shot gun set SKS next to sliding glass door shotgun next to the front door, put my INCH bag next to the front door also. Put on my Ribz pack (has all my basic survival needs in it) Now I am ready for a fast exit if needed.

2) Pack up the vehicle with the extra supplies. The bigger heavier stuff like my cylinder stove, solar panels and portable battery/inverter, the water cans, extra food pack, extra bedding and clothing packs, etc.

3) Start packing food from the kitchen, canned and boxed goods, as well as dry goods like oat meal and pasta.

4) Decide where I am going. I have two main plans. One take my sail boat to an island (here in the Pugit Sound we have lots of islands) Two meet up with friends and head to Eastern WA. If I can't reach my friends then I would be heading to sea, if I reach them we will sus out if land or sea sounds like the better option. Being zombies, I think island sounds better, but who knows what other details might surface that might make land seem a better option.

5) Hopefully reach BOL and hunker down. Set up defensive positions, prep living set up (kitchen sleeping etc), and of course search the air waves for more info.

This guy is pretty much SOL right now if that were to happen, I got a couple hundred rounds of ammo at my HOR, I don't have a BOP yet or anything... I'm just trying to get by, times are tough n its even worse with my new wife having a miscarriage the other night... I'm still trying to prep though...

This incident has made my wife regress in prepping. She went from stocking up on food and water a few weeks ago to packing an EDC to include her 9mm and carrying her BOB in the car. Funny because most people start with the BOB.

I will admit that the first thing we did Monday morning was go to Walmart and buy an extra 3 weeks of shelf stable food to add to our already 6-7mos stockpile! :oops:

If this really was the beginning at the moment i would continue to monitor various news sources and try and get hold of the situation. I live on the opposite side of the country and hours from the nearest major city. From there we would decide best course of action, bug in or bug out. Most gear is already set and ready to go.

Mods have already asked us not to post the snuff porn gore, and deleted images from the two open threads on the subject. Maybe a link with a NSFW warning would be OK, IDK. Some posters look at ZS at work or school or public areas, by the time they read "got a soft stomach" etc. it's too late, they've flashed pics of dead and maimed naked bodies on the screen. Also, I don't think there's any liability attached to posting photos of medical treatment - I think only the healthcare workers who leak them are on the hook wrt HIPPA - but I'm not sure, and it's poor form.
