Where as a BOB is used to get me to my BOL. That is one reason I don't like using BOB and 72 hr kit as interchangeable terms. If worst case scenario, it will take me 5 days to get to my BOL, then a 72 hr kit is only partly useful to me. I also prefer to have a bit of a buffer in my kit for "Murphy"
My vehicle bag is just that, gear and tools for my vehicle (to repair it or get it unstuck)
Ok... Clarification... Take the first video, the one I tried to post but couldn't get right so Tetra Grammaton Cleric got it right for me...
and just go with it...
For you, and what you do in your every day life, according to your lifestyle (all work and home, the gym, some regularly have to travel outside of town, away from home, some make frequent trips, vacations, get aways) it's based on your own daily routines, weekly routines, anything that is routine... If you were on the road, or away from home, on your way to wherever it would be you (hypathetically) could be going, or would be going, and SHTF and it hit the fan fast! Things deteriorated to the point where you would ultimatly have to ditch the vehicle and continue on foot. Your destination, of course, would be home... or to your bug out location, depending on your situation (some people have families to get home to, some have plans in place for E&E or evacuation, meeting points in place, some have to go get children from school, day care, grandmas, mom & dads etc. etc. etc.) It is all based on your personal priorities and planning as to where you have to make it to...
Do you carry anything in your vehicle or on your person specifically that you could rely on in such a scenario, and such scenarios can happen in a flash (flash floods, tornados, earthquake, hurricane, snow snorm etc. etc. etc. if you can imagine it, it can happen, even a NK satellite rocket failure that comes crashing to earth flattening your way home
Like CaptAmerica has items he feels would be neccessary and/or beneficial to him to have with him with his daily travels and activities, according to his lifestyle and needs, in place that he carries with him...

Of course I also carry tools, water, a larger FAK, sleeping bag, and other supplies in the jeep at all times.
And DJH has a layout of things that he finds he "needs" to have with him according to his needs:
DJH wrote:I have 3 separate kits in my car, my BOB which can double as a GHB, a small FAK (Which in a pinch can be attached to the BOB but usually lives in the glove box) and a VTK (Vehicle Tool Kit) that has tools specific to my Honda (8/10/12/14/17/19mm wrenches and sockets, wire cutters, wire strippers, an assortment of butt splices & scotchlocks, electrical tape, phillps and flathead screwdrivers, jumper cables, a tire iron (collapsible), wheel chocks, spare fuses, about a 30ft cc of duct tape, brake pads, an oil filter, and spark plugs) as well as extra oil, water, and trans fluid. I'm trying to find a way to mount some jerry cans as well, but they block the hatch access so I'm looking at finding or building a roof rack setup. Ideally the oil, water, and fuel jerry cans would be in a locked retainer on that rack.
I'd fit more back in the back, but the subwoofer is important too damnit.
It all depends on what YOUR priorities are and what your prepared for, if anything, because not all of us need to be prepared for hurricanes or massive quakes, but some do need to plan for these things to happen, others need to prepare for other unforseen, uncontrolable acts of man or nature, some choose not to prepare for such things because their risk is low, or they will be within minutes from anywhere they would need to be, or want to be, if S ever did HTF. There are a million and one variables to consider here.
People can get ideas from one post that they like and would like to consider for their own kit, bag, edc, w/e, and if someone wants a critiqe, they can post what they have in place for their purposes and ask for advice and what-not, and get it, constructively, of course, I hope.
So from the video's standpoint, take it from there, what do you have in place?
Know what I mean?
