Home Depot Charcoal Sale

Postby curryman » Wed May 23, 2012 2:41 pm

Most every Holiday weekend(Memorial, Labor etc) Home Despot runs the twin 20# Kingsford Charcoal for $7.97. That's $10 off. Eighteen pounds of that fit in a Homer bucket. Will post pics tomorrow.

Nice. Thanks, I'll make a trip out today to pick some up at that price. I usually grill on gas, but it's just not the same. My poor Old Smoky is all sad and lonely in my driveway, and I just picked up a 3 pack of some beautiful NY strips.

Well I went. One of the signs said the sale was for 2-20# bags. Me being a smart ass went to the grilling aisle and loaded a cart. Paid $107 and went to customer service desk(right by the front door). Tell young lady that these were supposed to be $5.88. She calls Stompy Manager over.

SM says "No, that sale is for the 13.9# bags."

I say "That sign right there on the pallets of (13.9# bags) charcoal says 20# bags." Pallets are about 8 feet from our location.

SM lives up to his name and stomps over to the sign and TRIES to tear it off. Whoever made the sign used about 40 rolls of tape to put it on.

SM after failing to remove the sign says "Did you get those bags here?"

Me "No those aren't 20# bags, I went over to the grilling area and got them."

SM (mumbling) "Do a price adjustment."

Me getting $52 bucks back: :D :D :D :D :D

This is what I got for $55.21.

$18 for a bag of questionable pecan wood, no thanks. Bulk trash in my area this week.

Gotta go cut it up.
