Plus, all living things are thermodynamically unstable anyway, we're held together by pure kinetics. You're not special. Um... what I'm trying to say is: Happy Birthday.

I heard caffeine is more addictive then crack.

We were out on extended movements and one guy brought several cans of dip with him. And the worst mistake I made was to take a dip. I was hooked after the third or fourth time.
The past 5 years I have tried hard to quit. Some will say not hard enough. But I have. From nicotine gum to patches to even chantix. But that chantix made me want to play chicken with a semi. So I stopped that. The longest I have actively quit on my own is 10 days. The longest medically was 3 weeks. When you hear people say quitting dipping is like quitting heroin they are correct. Its damn near like heroin withdrawals.
But here is the rub. Out of sight out of mind. I said the longest I have actively quit was 10 days. The longest I have quit is actually 2 years. When I lived in the Philippines and couldnt get the stuff. I had zero withdrawals and no desire whatsoever to dip. Why? I couldnt get it at all. So I guess my body and mind said "Hey we cant get it so why bother?" But the moment those jet airplane wheels hit the tarmac at LAX I wanted a dip and wanted one bad.
I will say this in my favor though. I have managed to push my dipping down to 2 times a day. One can lasts me a week. So that is good. And I have held it at that for a year. I am hoping with it being so low it will be easier to buck the habit. I am starting a new plan in a few weeks when I take my vacation. Going out to the boonies and stranding myself there for a week to test out bug out gear. Having a friend drop me off and pick me up in a week. And not taking a can with me. So hopefully the out of sight out of mind thing will kick in again and being such a small amount per day it will help me to stay quit when I come back. Well shall see.

I hated spitting into a cup and my girlfriend hated it more than I did. Since about 2007 I've been using primarily Swedish snus. It's a smokeless type of tobacco that you put in your upper lip and don't spit. It's still addictive, and I'm sure its still bad for me. I use it about 6-9 months a year and give it up the rest of the time.
I've told myself, if I can't get snus (I order it online from Sweden) then I won't use any other form of tobacco. It's reduced harm but still not healthy.

I had a colleague from Norway that did Snus and he ended up losing a portion of his jaw due to cancer. Don't be stupid brother! Stop dipping Snus!

I agree that is way stronger. When I used to use American smokeless tobacco I could literally throw 1/3-1/2 the can in my lip at once. I wouldnt usually use that much but the point was that I could. With snus I'd darn near pass out with a major buzz if I tried anything near that.
I appreciate the advice man. I'll definitely work on quitting. I'm going to have to.. I took 30 cans with me to China (I use 1 per week), and I'm on my last can now. No possible way of getting it now unless I wanted to ship it in from Sweden and even then I'm not going to bother. It would cost a HUGE amount of money to ship it to China most likely. Detox is on its way.

I would go through a tin of Snus in ONE DAY! That stuff is POISON brother and it WILL KILL YOU! My BP was extremely elevated when I was dipping Snus. Once I quit, my BP went down to an average of 125/90 and after a few weeks, it went down to 120/80. Just make a decision to stop that shit and just do it cold-turkey. You can do it and I'm here to help you.
