"Dude." Marty said staring at the carnage that was once a busy food court. Josh stood beside him and fallowed his gaze. He ran both hands through his hair. A zombie shuffled behind a counter at a Chinese food stand. It groaned and knocked the cash register to the ground and the money fell out. Everyone looked over and saw it crawling over the counter trying to get to them. Tyler picked up a baseball bat off the ground. He walked up the crawling zombie as it grasped at him. He swung the bat with all his might and the wooden bat broke as it connected with the zombies head. The zombie let out one last moan and slid off the counter and didn't get back up.

They walked down past some shops that had gates fully down or partially down. No signs of life in any. They walked down towards borders and stopped staring at the carnage. They slowly made their way towards the battle that took place there. Marty stopped at the gate and was hit by the familiar smell of baked roadkill. He backed up and covered his nose. Soon he found out what was making the smell. A body or what was left of it laid not far from the entrance covered in a black slime. As they approached the body Josh picked up the abandoned shotgun. "Jesus." He said and checked the chamber. "I don't know how many shots its got left. Its loaded though." He adjusted the strap to the shotgun and put it over his shoulder.

Layla jumped when she heard talking and quickly raised the M1 up and aimed. She pointed it towards the one who picked up the shotgun. She shook and put her finger over the trigger. She took a shaky breath and spoke. "Wh-whose there?" She asked making them all jump. Marty pulled his pistol out and looked around. Tyler and Jason flicked the safety off their weapons but didn't raise them. Josh grabbed his pistol and held it at his side. "Moline police department. Were here to extract civilians." Jason said his voice loud and authoritative. "Are you re-really?" Layla asked and released her grip on the trigger. She felt tears forming in her eyes. "Yes we are were here to get you out of here." Tyler said and finally saw her.

"Where were you when they attacked? Why didn't you protect them?" Layla asked and didn't hide the anger in her voice. "Look the police isn't trained for this type of situation. Why don't you come down and we can go help more people." Tyler said keeping his voice calm and strong. Layla stood up and they all saw her. She held the M1 and tears rolled down her face. "You took my Dad's shotgun." She said and everyone stared at Josh.

"Sorry do you want it? I'll trade you if you like." He said and took it off his shoulder. Layla nodded and climbed down. She had short hair dyed black. She wore camo pants and a brown t-shirt. She had skateboard shoes on and a small pack of ammo. "Good thing you shot all the bodies." Jason said as Layla and Josh trade weapons and ammo. "I didn't shoot them."

"You didn't?" Marty said and the bodies began to move. "Oh shit RUN!" Tyler yelled and they all began sprinting. The bodies began to fallow them. The stumbled and some came out from the abandoned stores. They moved out to block their path but was met with gunfire. Marty looked back and saw little children running towards them. He saw the blood on their faces and knew instantly they were infected. He ran faster and harder. "GOT RUNNERS BEHIND US!" He yelled and they threw open the door to the outside and slammed them shut. Jason and Josh moved a bench in front of the door and secured it.

The children hit the other side of the doors and growled at them as they backed off. "We need a ride!" Tyler yelled and looked around. The windows to the doors began to crack and shatter. "THERE!" Jason yelled and pointed at a Ford F-150. Its doors wide open and the keys sitting on the ground next to it. They all sprinted over. Jason grabbed the keys and jumped in the drivers seat and started it up. The truck roared to life just as the doors burst open to the mall. The undead began to make their way over to the truck as it's engine revved. "SHOTGUN!" Josh yelled and opened the passenger door and let Layla in first and then jumped in himself. Tyler and Marty climbed into the back and began firing at the running undead children that were closing in on them. Marty fired his Five-seveN and Tyler let loose a barrage from his Mp5. Jason gunned it and the truck surged forward. Marty and Tyler stumbled forward a bit and dropped to a knee as they left the undead behind them. Marty smiled and sat back against the cab of the truck. Tyler sat down and put a fresh magazine in his gun. Marty checked his and rammed and fresh Mag home.

The back window opened. "You two ok back there?" Jason yelled and steered the truck past wrecked cars. "Yea." They both replied. "Good. Where do we go now?" Tyler looked at Marty. "We go to New Windsor." Marty said and watched the abandoned vehicles wiz past them. "Alright how far is it out?" Jason called back. "I know where its at. Half an hour that way." He said and Jason took a hard right making Tyler and Marty slide around in the back. "How you holding up Layla? Layla?" Marty asked and looked in the Cab. Layla was laying on the seat fast asleep. The shotgun on the ground. He sat back down and watched the Quad cities disappear behind them as they left it behind. He began to wonder if he was ever going to return to the Quad Cities. His phone began to play music and he hit his bluetooth. "hello?" He asked and looked at Tyler.

"Hey whats going on? Mom says her and Dad are stuck on the arsenal. Their not aloud to leave and Mom says to come home because she needs you to unlock the Gunsafe. Whats going on?" Said his little sister Maxi. "You wouldn't believe me if i told you." He said and smiled happily knowing his sister was safe. "Whatever." She replied and kept her teenage attitude. "Just lock the doors and wait for me ok i'll explain everything later ok?" He said and heard her sigh angrily. "Fine whatever just get home soon the dogs keep acting up." She said and he heard the dogs begin to bark. "Lock the doors Max now." Marty said in his stern older brother voice. "Ok ok jeez. I'll see you when you get here." She hung up and Marty put his head back. He closed his eyes and wondered in he was going to be able to dream.

The truck rolled down a empty road as a two pairs of eyes stared from across a cornfield. "Holy shit cletus you see that?" James asked and lowered his binoculars. "Damn right i did. I bet they have some good shit with them." He said and gave a three toothed smile to his brother. "Momma's gonna be so proud of us." They high fived and got into a truck with a ram bumper attached.

"Wake up lazy bones." Tyler kicked Marty and he jumped. "Not like i can sleep with this damn vest." Marty said and adjusted his vest. "Get used to it we had to." Tyler gave him a smile and patted his. He had rolled up his sleeves and had a tattoo on his left arm. "Nice tat man. Where'd you get it?" Marty said and tried to move to see it. "OH this old thing. I got it when i joined the force. Its a flaming skull. Not original but hey i like it." He said and chuckled. "How long you been with SWAT?" Tyler sighed thinking back. "I joined about 6 years ago. I was a normal cop for 9 years before." He nodded. "Jason's been with them since he was a toddler." "Ha ha." Came from the cab and Marty laughed. Marty went to say something when the tires exploded and the Truck swerved. Jason got the truck under control and stopped it. "SONOVABITCH!" He yelled and threw the door open. Marty and Tyler climbed out of the back and walked over to him. Jason rubbed his head and Josh climbed back out his weapon in his hand as he shut his door. Layla has sat up and was rubbing her right eye. "What happened?" She said sleepily and yawned.

"The damn tires are popped all of them." Jason walked around the truck then walked back and lifted up a makeshift spike strip. It was nails stuck into a strip of wood the was poorly made but did the job. Jason threw it into the side of the road. Josh went to say something but suddenly collapsed. Marty looked back. "Dude?" Tyler walked over and crouched down. He took something out of his neck and stood up turning around. He held a needle in hands and dropped it quickly raising his Mp5. Jason did the same and Marty took out his pistol and raised it. They scanned the area and soon Jason yelled and grabbed his shoulder and soon collapsed. Marty shut the doors to the truck. "LOCK THE DOORS LAYLA!" He yelled and she hit the button locking the doors. She hid behind a seat and grabbed the shotgun.

Marty and Tyler backed up and put their backs on it. Marty crouched keeping his gun up. Tyler grunted and fell forward the needle sticking out the back of his neck. Marty fell on his butt and began to move back. Another needle hit the truck inches away from his face and he threw himself backwards and began firing his pistol out into the open. He stood up and reloaded. He fired three more shots and stopped. He listened and scanned the area. A few minutes passed and nothing happened. HE jumped when the truck door opened. Layla poked part of her head out. "Is it safe?" She asked and slowly started to get out. "I don't know. Lets get these guys into the truck before their zombie chow."

He put the pistol in its holster and crouched down to pick up Tyler. He felt a sharp pain in his side and dropped Tyler. He looked down and saw a needle sticking out of his hip. "OH shit." He stumbled around felt the world turning. He collapsed and heard Layla scream. She fell out of the truck and landed on Tyler.

The world slowly came into focus. "OH you boys make me so proud." A female voice said with a southern accent to it. Marty slowly opened his eyes and became conscious. He saw a wood around him. "Hey momma can we feed papa?" The voice said excitedly. "Oh Cletus i dont see why not." Marty reached up and rubbed his face. He saw his sweatband missing. He looked down his body and saw his shirt missing to. His boots were gone and he was only in his jeans and socks. He felt his wooden box being moved and quickly went back to pretending he was asleep. He closed his eyes and slowed his breathing. He felt his box get dragged across what he guessed was a dirt floor. After three long minutes it stopped. Slowly opening his eyes the world inside the wooden box hadn't changed. "Should we open em James?" Came from above his box. "Alright lets do it." Light filled his box and it was tipped over. Marty rolled onto his stomach and closed his eyes again. "Shit this ones still out." "Oh well that will be the first one for pa." He felt someone touch him and jumped. He cracked his eye open and saw josh laying on his back his eyes were closed but he began to move.

"Wakey wakey hand off snakey. That shit we got ya'll with is gonna keep you down for awhile." He slapped Josh's cheek and got a groan out of him. Marty opened his eyes fully and he saw Tyler get tipped out of a box. He rolled and didn't move still out cold. "Hey Jacob go tell Ma to get the girl ready I need to get my sex on." Cletus said and let out a howl and laughed with Jacob. Jacob left excitedly. Marty saw they were in a barn and began to feel the tiredness wear off. He tried to sit up but couldn't. Josh looked at him and gave him a weak smile. "Any plans?" He whispered. "No you?" Marty replied and Cletus walked over to the last box. "No. You went to college you should have the plans." Marty smiled. They were going to die and Josh was making a joke. At least that would never change. Cletus looked up and locked eyes with Marty. "Shit your finally up. Man wait till you meet pa. He's gonna make you squeal like a chicken." He let out another howl and began to open Jason's box.

A hand shot out of the box and immediatly wrapped itself around Cletus's throat. He grabbed it and tried to reach for something behind him but couldn't get it. Jason sat up and slammed his forehead against Cletus's. He pulled him back again and did it again. Cletus dropped down and didn't move. Jason slowly climbed out of the box and stood up. "Nice job man." Josh said and Jason nodded helping him up. He helped Marty up next and he got a good look at the barn. There was blood stains on the floor and a locked trap door. Marty weakly got up and Jason shook Tyler. Tyler groaned and slowly stirred. Jason grabbed a machete from the wall and put his knee on Cletus's back. He grabbed his hand and put the machete on it. "Don't." Tyler said and they all looked at him. He pulled himself up and shook his head at Jason. Jason scowled at him. "He was going to feed us to his pa. Another Damn zombie." Jason dragged the blade against Cletus's arm. "I say we cut his damn arm off and feed it to pa." Josh said and Marty couldn't help but agree. "Its not right he's still human. As much as i'd hate to let him go we gotta get out of here." "Lets atleast tie him up." Marty said and made a fist. Tyler nodded and held onto the wall as he shook his head trying to clear the cobwebs out.

Jason secured the rope tightly and smacked Cletus once them punched him. "Jason." Tyler said in a stern voice and Jason stared at Cletus awhile then walked away. He put Tyler's arm over his shoulder and they left the barn. "We need to find our equipment. Anyone wanna bet its in the hicks house?" Josh said and stared at the house not that far from the barn. Marty nodded. "Alright i think me and Josh should go in since you two are kinda out of it." "Out of it?" Jason said and adjusted Tyler. "I'm fine i took down that hillbilly." "But you got Tyler so we should go in." Tyler nodded. "Alright i'm for it Jason give one of them the machete." Jason passed it to Josh who passed it to Marty. "I'm not good with knives." Marty nodded and turned towards the house. He put the blade in a belt loop and walked over towards the house as Jason and Tyler went to stay out of sight. The sun was setting and the darkness was closing in.

Marty crouch ran over to the house and ducked under a window. Josh crouched infront of him and they both looked in the window. A women wearing a flannel shirt was cooking and humming to herself. The shirt was wrapped around like a bra and showed off the womens features. "JACOB!" She yelled making them both jump. "Ya ma?" Jacob walked into the kitchen. He held a rifle in his hands and a pair of handcuffs. "Hows our new house guest doing?" "Oh she loves it here. Says she wants to stay with us Ferever." Jacob said with a smile. "Good dinners gonna be ready in fifteen minutes. Then she's yers ta play with." "Hot damn." Jacob smiled and left. "We gotta get in there and get Layla." Josh said and Marty nodded.

Marty checked the front door and found it unlocked. He slowly opened it. It didn't make a sound which was weird. It was well oiled. They sneaked in and stood on both sides of the doorway into the kitchen. A bottle of wine near josh. He reached in and grabbed it by the neck and brought it over to his side. Marty leaned over and saw that Ma had her back to them. He crouched and silently moved past her and out of the kitchen into the living room. He moved so Josh could see him and held up and hand telling him to wait. Josh nodded and crouched.

Marty moved through the living room and down a hall. There was one door open with the light on and the sound of running water. Marty stopped beside it and looked in to see Jacob running his hands under the sink water then through his hair. A quick jolt across and Marty was on the other side. Jacob was too busy primping himself to notice. After moving a bit further down the hall and found one room with the door shut. He opened it and found a room loaded with weapons. He smiled and moved into it shutting the door. He saw a familiar looking pistol sitting on the desk. He picked it up and the holster with it. "Miss me baby?" Marty said and attached it to his leg. It felt right. He grabbed his clothing and vest. He opened the window and came Face to Face with Jason. "Oh hey." He said and handed him his equipment. Jason began putting it on when they heard something. "JACOB!" "WHAT!?!" "Go out there a find out what your brother's doin." "Alright ma." Footsteps went down the hall and through the living room. Marty quickly handed Jason the rest of their equipment and shut the window.

Jacob patted his mother on the shoulder as he walked by and went into the laundry room. Josh was hidden between the washer and dryer bottle of wine in his hand. When Jacob walked by he moved out behind him. In one quick fluid motion he tapped Jacob's shoulder making his turn around and smashed the side of his head with the wine bottle dropping him instantly. He landed on a pile of clothes and didn't make a sound. Ma was none the wiser. Josh saw the bottle had cracked and shook his head. He went back to the doorway and crouched.

Marty waited for Jacob to tell his mother that they'd escaped but didn't hear anything. He opened the window and saw Tyler and Jason waiting. He helped Tyler inside then Jacob. They began taking weapons and Ammo putting them in bags. Tyler left first to take Josh's stuff to him. The sound of breaking glass made them all stop. Marty left the room and moved down the hall to the living room. He stopped at the kitchen doorway and found Ma knocked out on the table. He saw Josh drop what remained of the bottle and nodded at him. They left and went back down the hallway to another door. They opened it found an empty bedroom. They moved down to the next one and found the door locked. They shrugged and moved to the next door and opened it. On the bed Handcuffed was Layla. She screamed but it wasn't very loud because of the gag in her mouth. They moved up and she quieted down and let out a sigh. She began crying as they free'd her. She instantly tore off the gag and threw her arms around Marty. "OH thank you! Thank you!" she cried and Marty patted her back twice. "Were leaving." He said and she nodded.

They made it outside and met up with Tyler and Jason. "Got a ride?" Josh asked and Jason smiled. "Hell yea we do. You gotta love these hillbilly's and their toys." Marty, Josh, and Layla all arched an eyebrow and Jason lead them to the garage. They all stared in amazement. "OH...Yea that'd work." Marty said and nodded. "I think we could use it." Josh added. "Its a good thing." Layla said and looked at them.

Jacob slowly came to and felt the back of head. He found a lump. Slowly standing up and looked around. "Son of a bitch!" He cursed and slammed his hand on the wall. He left and stumbled over to the barn and saw Cletus tied up staring at him. He untied him. "Shit you see where they went?" Jacob asked as he untied Cletus. "No but i hear them say their gonna fallow the gravel to the road and go on foot." The sun was almost gone and they ran towards their truck. "Alright that's it. We gonna find them and kill them. Then we feed the remains to Pa." "You got that right." They let out a howl and started up the truck. No sooner had they started it up did the noise of another engine starting came from the right side. They looked over as another truck rammed into the side of them. Jacob no having his seatbelt on took the full force of the blow and broke his neck as the truck rammed them.

Jason opened up the door to the truck and stepped out. "Shit man." Marty said and he moved out from behind the barn Tyler in front of him. Cletus fell out of the drivers seat and coughed. His leg broken and dragged himself towards the barn a trail of blood fallowing him. Josh aimed from the roof with the M1 and Tyler held up a fist. Josh climbed down and walked over to them. Layla walked out of the Garage and put her hand over her mouth. "Oh my god." Cletus disappeared into the barn and they heard him cursing. "Sum bitches wait till pa hears about this." Tyler looked at Layla. "Wait in the Hummer." She nodded and ran back to the vehicle. The rest of them walked into the barn and stared at Cletus as he sat on the trap door. "Don't come no closer. I'll let this zombie out." "Wasn't he calling it Pa earlier?" Josh asked and everyone nodded.

"I mean it i'll do it!" He messed with the lock. Suddenly a hand shot out and grabbed his broken leg. Cletus yelled in pain as it dragged it into the hole and something took a bite out of it. He yelled even louder. "PLEASE KILL ME!?!" Marty felt a little pitty for him but decided against actually helping him. He didn't know if others were fed to what was beneath. He yet out another howl of pain as the rest of his leg was pulled in and more hands joined in pulling him apart. He yelled and screamed. Marty closed his eyes and left. He left the barn and threw up. He took a deep breath and threw up again. Josh left and covered his mouth. He bent over like he was going to throw up but didn't. Tyler shut the barn door and took out a lighter. He lit the hay on fire and Jason threw a Molotov into the side and walked over to the hummer. They all climbed in and drove off. The barn collapsed in on itself as the zombies trapped beneath fed on cletus.

Ma came out of the house and yelled in horror as she found Jacob dead and bleeding. She cried as she saw the barn burning. She collapsed crying and buried her face in her hands. Jacob groaned and sat up. He climbed out the window and fell to the ground. Slowly rising his colorless eyes found his mother and stumbled towards her. She looked back just as he bent down to feed. She ran and soon was ambushed by a flaming zombie. "PA!" She yelled and was taken down. She screamed as the zombie that used to be the father of their kids sunk its teeth into her neck. Jacob knelled down and joined it. The only sound was of the barn burning and the hummer leaving.

"Did you kill him?" Layla asked after 10 minutes of silence. "No." Marty said and rubbed his eyes. "Why didn't you?" She asked and tapped the barrel of her shotgun with a fingernail. "The zombies beat us to it." Jason said as he drove the Hummer down the last hill and into New Windsor. "At least were home." Marty said and Josh nodded. "I hate this town." "Don't worry we all will." Tyler said and Marty laughed. "Yea this towns gone to hell before the dead rose."

(sorry kinda lost the muse to continue the story. But i'm back and gonna continue this story!)

The hummer rolled into New Windsor just as a fire truck turned down a road its lights going. Marty watched it go down towards the church. He shook his head and watched a group of townsfolk talking holding weapons. The mayor was apart of the group and watched them drive by. "Even before the dead rose this place has looked like shit." Josh said and Marty snorted. "Yea somethings never change." They fist bumped and Marty climbed up between the front seats. "Turn here."

The hummer pulled up the driveway and stopped. Marty's sister looked out the window at them then shut her blinds. Marty climbed out and helped Layla down. She looked tired and rubbed her eye. "We'll find you a place to sleep ok?" Tyler said and patted her shoulder and got a grunt from her of confirmation.

Maxi opened the door and walked outside as the back of the hummer opened up. Jason reached in and pulled out a bag and flung it over his shoulder. Two black labs came running over barking and wagging their tails. Marty crouched down and let them sniff him. "Hey guys you miss me?" He said and was rewarded with a kiss from both the dogs. "Who are these people? Why are the cops here?" Maxi asked getting closer. "Get inside we'll explain inside." Marty said and Josh walked by carrying a bag of ammo.

After everyone was inside Marty locked the door and shut off the porch light. He pet a dog as he walked into the living room. "Ok Maxi these are some new friends of mine." "Friends?" Josh said and arched an eyebrow at Marty. "Up yours Josh." "I know josh who are these guys?" Maxi asked and pushed Josh lightly. "The older dude is Jason. The other ex-swat member is Tyler. The girl whose about to fall asleep is layla." Marty ran a hand through his hair and looked at Maxi. "The dead has risen." He said and she stared at him. She sunk down against the wall. "Hey look everythings alright they haven't gotten here yet." He crouched down infront of his sister. "Mom and Dad are stuck on the arsenal. The military won't let them leave." Maxi said and put her hands over her mouth fear taking over. "Hey look lets take Layla and the dogs into your room and you can sleep. Ok?" He said and she nodded. Layla fallowed and Marty called the dogs into her room and shut the door. "Hey Marty come check this out!" Josh yelled and Marty walked down the hall towards the living room.

"Whats up?" He said and saw they stood around a open bag. "We kinda just grabbed bags and this is what we found." Tyler opened the bag up and showed him the contents. Marty started laughing at what was inside. Pot, porno mags, and alcohol was inside. Everyone started laughing and sat down. When everyone calmed down and looked at each other. "So what should we do with it?" Josh asked and they all looked around at each other.

Marty laid on the couch and had a bottle on his stomach. "You know this whole zombie thing isn't that bad." He said and grabbed the bottle. Jason hiccuped and nodded. "I-I hear ya man. You know we don't have to pay taxes anymore." He said and stumbled around. Josh laid on the ground grabbing air. "Dude. I miss your parents house. The ceiling is just so awesome!" He said and started laughing. Tyler has a magazine over his face and he snored. "Damn he's a fucking lightweight." Josh said and kept laughing. Marty rolled off the couch and drank the last of his bottle. "You got some nerve you fucking druggie!" Marty said and put his feet on the couch. "Whoa you are right the ceiling is amazing." "I know right?" Josh said and began grabbing air again. Jason collapsed into a chair and closed his eyes. "Alright you bitches i'm out!" He reclined and began snoring.

Josh pulled a pillow off the couch and put it under his head. "Do you think we'll survive this?" Marty asked and Josh buried his head in the pillow. The world began to fade around Marty as Josh spoke. "No."

Light hit Marty's eyes and he groaned covering his eyes. His head pounded and he heard someone talking in the kitchen. "I think they were drinking all night." He couldn't tell but he thought it was his sister talking. He slowly opened his eyes and saw one dog laying with Josh and another in Jason's lap. He felt something churn in his stomach and he was up instantly. He ran to the bathroom and barely made it to the toilet as he puked. He purged everything from his stomach and fell over and groaned closing his eyes again. He slowly stood up and opened the medicine cabinet. "Morning sunshine." Tyler said from the doorway drinking coffee. Marty gave him the finger and popped a few pills. "That's what you guys get for drinking so late."

Marty pushed off the counter and walked into the kitchen. "Morning mart-tuna!" MAxi said too happily and smiled. "Shut up its too early for this shit." He put his head on the counter. "Its 11 am." He heard Layla say. He peaked out of the corner of his eye and stared at Layla who had apparently borrowed one of maxi's shirts. It was a bit short on her but wasn't going to complain. He stood up and shook his head. "Have the neighbors left?" He asked and put on his Dad's sunglasses.

"The Jacobson's over to the right have. The Dolan's just took off. Allan packed up his family last night and took off. The smiths haven't moved since two days ago." Maxi said and held a pan of cooked eggs under his nose and made his gag. "Stop it!" He said and pushed it away. Layla and Maxi giggled. "I'm gonna go check on the Smiths. Care to tag along Ty?" He said and Tyler nodded. "Yea but your taking the lead on this one." Marty rolled his eyes. "Sure make the drunk do it!" Marty yelled and left the kitchen. "SHUT UP PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO SLEEP!" Josh yelled from the living room.

Marty put on the bullet proof vest on over his old CM punk shirt and patted it. He attached the holster for his pistol to his right leg and put three clips into his pocket. He put the machete through a belt loop and left his old room. He laced up his combat boots and stomped once. Tyler and Marty left the house and looked out at the little town. No zombies in sight and none could be heard in the distance. They walked towards the trailer next door to the smiths. "How long have you known these people?" Tyler asked and Marty looked at him. "Kinda my whole life. Ron feeds the squirrels and Mary...She just kinda sits around." Tyler laughed. "So she's lazy huh?" "You could say that."

Marty knocked on the front door. "Ron? Mary? Its Marty your neighbor. You guys in there?" He knocked again. Tyler stood behind his with his arms crossed. His pistol at his side he watched the windows. "Anything?" He asked as Marty put his ear against the door. "Nothing i don't hear...Wait. Somethings moving." He pushed his ear away from the door and the door opened up. Ron stared at him a few moments and smiled. "Hello Marty. Home visiting the parents?" "YOu could say that." He smiled back. "Just checking up on ya Ron." "Thanks Marty but were fine." He shut the door and Tyler and Marty walked back to the house.

Marty and Tyler walked into the house and watched a hungover Josh walk past them towards the bathroom and shut the door. "Damn we did do a lot last night didn't we?" Marty asked and Tyler nodded.

"Five bucks says you can hit the brown house." Marty said and slapped $5 on the trunk of a red car. "I'll take some of that action." Tyler said and took out $5. "You kids got something to learn about Golf and bets." Jason put a golf ball down and grabbed a club. Josh sat on the bumper of the car they put the money on and held a ice pack on his head. Layla sat on top of the hummer and ate yogurt.

Jason lined up the club with the ball and took a deep breath. He brought it back and swung the club. The golf ball shot out of the driveway and straight through the window of the Brown house. "Oh shit i hope they've already left if not were screwed." Marty said and put his hands behind his head. Layla started laughing as Jason pocketed the money. They all stared at the house and no one came out. "Ok so we got lucky this time." Tyler said and grabbed a golf club. "So lets keep aiming for that house." He put a golf ball down.

"Isn't that against the law officer?" Layla said from on top the hummer. "I quit my job i don't know about Jason but I'm kinda between jobs right now." He said and smiled at her. Layla stuck her tongue out at him and smiled. It was nice to forget about the undead problem for the time being. Marty leaned on the hummer and crossed his arms. "What no wager on me?" Tyler said and stared at Jason and Marty.

"Alright how about if you can hit it through their garage window. Five bucks." Jason said and took out one of the $5 he got from them. "Alright im in for this one." Marty took out another five. Layla tapped his shoulder and handed him a five. Josh smacked one onto the trunk but didn't move the ice pack from his head. "Now were talking." Tyler said and put a golf ball down. He lined up his shot and readied the club. He brought the club back and smacked the ball. It soared right at the garage. It fell short and hit below the window. Everyone began laughing and took their money back. The laughter stopped when they saw a zombie shuffling down the road towards them. Dark clouds began moving in. Everyone watched the zombie as it shuffled towards them. Layla let out a squeal as a zombie came out from between the house and garage and moved towards them. "Shit." Marty toke out the machete and moved towards the zombie. Gun shots errupted from around the town and screams were heard. Marty raised the machete and brought it down and sliced into its brain. It dropped and the machete was stuck in its head. Marty looked and saw more zombies shuffling around in the back yard.

"We need to get inside the house now!" Jason called and pulled out his pistol and ran towards the front door. Maxi threw open the front door for them. "MARTY!" She yelled and waved for them. The zombie on the road moaned. Marty helped Layla off the hummer and everyone rushed inside. Marty threw the deadbolt in place as Jason and Tyler brought the couch over and braced the door with it. They went to the back door and locked it. Looking out the back window he saw the zombies tapping on the windows of the house behind them. The rest were making there way towards their house. "We gotta block this door." "On it." Tyler and Jason brought the Recliner over and braced it against the door. "Max and Layla go downstairs." Tyler yelled and handed them a shotgun. Layla took it and ran downstairs max fallowing close behind. "Marty what about dad's gun safe?" Max called back up the stairs. "Try to get it open." He called and reloaded his pistol.

Zombies began pounding on the windows as Marty picked up some clips and grabbed a shotgun slinging it over his shoulder. He drew his pistol and put some shells into his pack. Jason bashed the picture window open with the butt of his Mp5 and checked the front yard. "Fronts only got three." "That's because their all focused back here!" Josh yelled and opened a window and fired off three shots with his pistol and dropped a zombie that reached at him.

Tyler shouldered his Mp5 and flipped on single shot and began dropping zombies. The dead began to come at the house from the back. Then from the right. Marty kicked a zombie in the face knocking it out of the window. He fired at it and soon it quit moving. He reloaded and heard a sick smack against the top of the window. "HELP ME!" He heard outside and saw the sick black tar slowly sliding down the window. He quickly slammed it shut as the dead attacked it with renewed energy. Another black mark appeared on the window. "Uh guys we got a spitter!" "On it!" Josh called and moved to the smaller kitchen window and leveled the M1 garand. He aimed at its head as it turned towards him. He smirked and felt the gun kick against his shoulder as the creatures head shot back as brain and blood shot out the back of her head. He let out a cheer and put the gun down drawing his pistol as he went back to the other windows.

The window of the back door broke as infected arms reached in and tried to grab anything. One grabbed the chair and tried to pull it. Jason let loose a full auto burst from his gun through the window as the hands backed off. A pile of dead bodies at the back door did nothing to stop the undead as they searched for other means of entry. Tyler grabbed a grenade from his belt and pulled the pin. He threw it out at the crowd. "EVERYONE DOWN!" He yelled and dropped. Marty and Josh jumped underneath the window and covered their heads. Jason ducked behind the chair at the back door and reloaded his weapon. An explosion fallowed five seconds later. Marty peaked outside. A few stragglers wandered around and others pulled themselves around with what they had left. Near where the grenade went off were unmoving bodies. One moved around as just a torso and let out a gurgling noise from the hole in its throat.

Thunder sounded above and the zombies stopped moving. It began raining and the zombies looked up at the sky. Everyone stood up and watched them. "Their confused." Tyler said as the zombies just kept staring. "Lets drop em." Josh said and raised his pistol. They all raised their weapons and dropped the remaining undead.

Gunfire and the screams died as they boarded up the doors and windows. Layla and Marty pulled off a bedroom and door and hammered it into place over the back door. Max and josh boarded up the window with the black fowl smelling tar as Jason checked for survivors among the dead. Tyler stood in the broken picture window and watched as three zombies stood watching the rain and looking up every time it thundered.

The rain passed as soon the three wandered off. Marty sighed and leaned against the wall sinking down. Everyone sat down except for Max. "So what are we gonna do about the window?" She said and pointed at it. "It'll be fine its too high up for then to reach it. I think tomorrow we should find a new place to hide." Jason said and got nods from everyone else.

Later that night Marty stood looking out the broken window. He watched as a zombie shuffled by a street light and kept going away from them. He jumped and quickly turned on his flashlight when the floor creaked behind him. Layla instantly covered her eyes. "Too bright dude." She said and he turned it off. "Sorry. Why aren't you asleep?" Marty put the flashlight down and watched her move to stand next to him. "I could ask you the same question." She said and crossed her arms. "I couldn't sleep and i heard someone come out here." Marty nodded. "I just couldn't sleep. My minds just going a million miles a minute with this whole zombie apocalypse." He looked at her. "Can i ask you something?" She looked back at him. "Sure." "Why did you decide to come with us? Don't you have family in the cities?" Layla looked away. "No my dad was the only family i had. He brought me to the mall to protect me and i guess he did his job." She kept looking away. Her shoulders began to shake. "I'm sorry i brought it up." She shook her head. "Don't be. I just miss him." She began to cry and collapsed. "Are we gonna die and become just like them? I don't wanna die. I don't wanna come back to life as a zombie." She cried and Marty crouched down to her height.

Before he could say anything she threw her arms around his neck and cried into his shoulder almost knocking him over. "Its ok Layla. We'll make it i promise." He said and patted her back. "Really?" She said with a sniff not releasing herself from his shoulder. He lightly grabbed her chin and moved her face to face his. "I promise." He let go but she didn't move her face she just locked eyes with his. They started to lean in. Their eyes began to close as their lips got closer to each other.

A light flashed across them from outside as a helicopter carrying a large container flew over the town. They both looked and let go of each other. The container came only inches from taking off the roof as the helicopter pilot struggled to keep it right. The container detached and smashed down onto a car on main street. SCP was on the side as the helicopter crashed into the cornfield. Marty and Layla stared at the container. Lights came on around town as people were getting up to see what had crashed. Jason came into the room fallowed by Josh and Tyler. "What the hell is that?" He asked and they all shrugged. "Lets go find out then." Josh said and they all nodded. Max rubbed her eyes as she came into the living room. "Whats going on?" "Maxi grab the bags, get dressed, and put everything in the hummer. We may have to leave soon." Marty said and she nodded sleepily and went back to her room.

They grabbed their weapons and went outside. Marty pulled his machete out of the the dead zombies head and walked towards the container as people stood around it looking around for zombies. They began to whisper. "SCP? Whats that mean?" "Can't be anything good."

Marty was beginning to feel like something bad was about to happen.

A sharp cry came from the container as something moved around it. Everyone took a few steps back. Guns were pointed at the container as something scratched and moved around. A claw shot out of the side fallowed by a screech. "RUN!" Someone yelled and everyone scattered. Marty fought past screaming people pulling Layla as he ran. Josh was ahead of him with Jason beside him. He couldn't see Tyler but he assumed he was behind him. The side of the container ripped one a creature stepped out and screeched.

IT stood 7'9 and was skinny. Its fingers sharp claws its arms long branches of grey flesh. Its head a diamond shape with glowing yellow eyes. Its legs were longer than its arms but had claws for its feet also. It let out a terrible screech and charged at a group of people running away. Screams filled the air along with gunshots as it grabbed two people by the flesh of their neck and bit into their stomachs. It chewed their flesh and chased after more screaming people.

The group got up to the hummer. "WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT!?!" Max yelled as she got the dogs into the hummer. "GET IN WERE LEAVING!" Marty yelled and everyone piled into the vehicle. Marty and Tyler climbed into the back, Layla and Max took the middle seat, and Jason and Josh took the front seats. They started up the car and began to back up as a body hit their hood with its lower half missing. Max let out a scream and put her dead and Layla stared in horror. The backed up as the creature climbed over the roof of the garage and screeched at them. They gunned it down the road as the creature jumped down and almost grabbed the back of the hummer. The rear tail lights showed the creatures full features as it chased after them getting down on all fours.

"We need to go faster!" Marty yelled and pulled a shotgun out. The creature got closer to their vehicle. Jason pushed the accelerator down as far it could go. The skidded out onto the main street as the creature lunged at them. Its claw sinking into the back of the hummer. IT got dragged along as they sped down the street. Marty searched in a bag and found a full beer bottle. He passed it up to Layla. "We need a Molotov can you make one?" He asked as the creature roared at them. Layla took it and nodded. She tore a part of her shirt off. The thing put its face against the back window and smashed it open. Marty fired the shotgun in the creatures face. Its head shot back them right back forward. A hole in the side of its head visible but its kept moving. "HERE!" Layla lit the Molotov and threw it at the creature. The creatures mouth opened as it screeched and the bottle went straight into its mouth.

It swallowed it flame and all and started reaching in towards them. A hail of gunfire tore its face apart as its head moved back out of the hummer. Climbing on top of the hummer it screeched. Marty pumped the shotgun and fired through the roof. It connected with its stomach and the bottle. The creature burst into the flames and swiped at the air as it fell off the roof and rolled on the road. It let out a final dieing screech and quit moving as it burned.

Marty watched it burn and slumped back with Tyler and sighed. "Ok its dead." Tyler said and felt the hummer decelerate. Everyone was quite as they pulled back up to the house. "I think we should try to get some rest. We'll pack up everything else in the morning." Jason said. Marty's ears were ringing and he barely heard it. He rubbed his ear as everyone got out of the vehicle. As everyone went off to bed Marty went into his old room and shut the room. It had been turned into a guest bedroom and had his old clothes still packed up in boxes in the closet.

The ringing in his ears began to subside. Someone knocked on the door. "Can i come in?" Layla said and turned the door handle. "Yea." Marty replied and she opened the door and walked in shutting it behind her. "Um...I was just seeing if you had another shirt you could let me borrow." She said as she blushed keeping her shirt closed with her hands. He could see the part of her shirt she ripped off went straight up. "Oh uh yea." He said and grabbed a box and tore the tape off the box. He opened it up and began rummaging through shirts. Layla began searching with him. She pulled out one of his old Brony t-shirts and held it up with an eyebrow. "Uh...I can explain." He said and rubbed the back of his head as his cheeks turned red.

"I can't wait to hear why you have this shirt." She said and put it over her shoulder. He could see her bra and breast as her shirt opened up a bit. He couldn't help but stare and quickly looked back into the box of shirts when she looked at him. "Uh you gonna wear that shirt?" He asked and pushed shirts away. "Maybe." She said and put her hands back in the box.

Layla sat next to Marty as they watched an old DVD. "So this movie is from the 80's?" Layla asked and Marty nodded. "Yea the naked gun. Its my favorite movie of all time." "I can see why." Layla said and moved closer to him. He reached over and gently took her hand in his. They turned and looked at each other their eyes meeting. They began to lean in and slowly closed their eyes. Their lips touched and their hands wrapped around each other. They fell over as the movie kept going.

"Lt. Frank Drebin, Police squad. And i don't want to see any of you in America. EVER!" The TV said as the theme music started playing.

The blue screen of the DVD player filled the room. Marty groaned and grabbed the remote to it and shut it off. He reached over and felt someone next to him. He opened his eye and saw Layla fast asleep next to him. Her arms wrapped around his arm she slept soundly and even had a small smile on her face. They didn't do much besides make out. He still didn't mind that's all they did. He would have liked to do more but he's fine with this. He heard a knock on his door. "Yea?" He said and Layla stirred a little.

"Dude were packing up the last things. You and your girlfriend need to get up." Josh said and knocked more rapidly. "You lonely little fucker." Layla said the threw one of her shoes at the door. "There is no need for that language young lady." Josh said from the other side of the door. "Bring it on then bitch!" She yelled and winked at Marty who shook his head as he pulled his DX shirt on. "I can't hit women..." Came from the other side of the door and Layla started laughing.

The hummer roared to life as Jason started it up. "Lets get going!" He yelled and rolled down the window. Maxi tried calling the dogs but they stayed in the yard. "Why aren't they getting up?" She said and walked over to them. Josh watched as she pet them trying to coax them over. "I think their waiting for mom and dad." Marty said and let them back into the house. "Well...What can we do about it?" Max asked tears filling up her eyes as the dogs went and laid down. "Lets leave lots of food and water for them ok?" Marty said and walked over to their water and food bowl. He emptied the entire dog food bag and another onto it and took out four giant mixing bowls and filled them up with water. "I love you dogs. Your the best pets i've ever had." Maxi said tearfully as she hugged them one last time. She patted each of their heads as Marty left a note on the counter. He shut the door and locked it. Marty took the key off his keyring and dropped it onto the porch.

They climbed into the hummer and looked at the house as it rolled out of the driveway. Maxi looked back and saw one of the dogs in the window watch them drive off. She closed her eyes and buried her head in her knees. Marty watched the house slowly disappear as they turned onto the main street and drove off. It would be the last time any of them saw the house.

"Lets stop at the gas station in Sherrard and fill up this beast. Maybe one of those to go tanks to." Josh said and got a nod from Jason. The ride was quiet as Marty sat in the back and stared out the rear window. Layla reached back and took his hand. He gently rubbed it with hand and watched New Windsor fade away.

Jason filled up the hummer as Josh and Marty pressed their faces against the glass of the Gas station. Objects were everywhere and a large streak of blood went across the floor. They opened the door and stepped in. They fallowed the trail over to a overturned lotto machine. A single arm stuck out from under it. A sick wet smacking sound was heard on the other side. They moved around and found out what was making the noise. Half a zombie was chewing on a store clerk. It's arm missing. Marty took out his machete and with a quick slice its head rolled away from its body. "Lets grab some snacks." Marty said and moved away towards the food.

Tyler broke the lock on the propane tanks outside. He pulled one out and grunted as he lifted it up. He walked back to the hummer and put it in the back. He walked back and grabbed another one. Marty opened the door and handed another bag to Layla as her and Maxine walked back to the vehicle with the bags of food and drinks. Tyler dropped a tank and took out his pistol. "Shit you little bugger. You scared me." He said and watched a zombie trapped by barbed wire. It tugged and grunted as it tried to go after him. It let out a gargled moan as it reached for him. Tyler smirked and picked up the tank walking back to the car.

They shut the doors on the hummer and drove away. The trapped zombie watched them leave and looked back at the gas station. Marty sat in the back with Tyler. Josh kept tuning the radio. "...We've barricaded ourselves in the building." "Hey leave it here." Layla said and they all recognized the voices of the radio Dj's from the morning show. "Were still getting calls from people who said that they have seen a container dropped in the city with SCP written on the side." Everyone looked at each other as they remembered the creature from the first container. "We erge everyone to keep hiding in their homes until the military comes." "Oh cut the bullshit bill." The other radio DJ spoke up. "We all know the military's just gonna shot us. Were not government personnel were gonna die. Were all gonna die!" He yelled and started freaking out.

"TERRI CALM DOWN!" Bill said and slapped his co-host. "Sorry. Its just i've been up for quite awhile folks." Terri apologized and they heard a door shut. "Ladies and gentlemen were going to take a short commercial break." Music soon started playing over the radio.

"I was NOT that bad of a shot." Josh said and turned to face Marty. "Yes you were you hit the wall in archery." "So?" "There was a mesh net behind the targets." "Yea so it was close to the wall." "Five feet away from it!" Marty yelled and everyone started laughing as Josh gave him the finger. Marty smiled. "I love you good buddy!" He laughed and patted Layla's shoulder.

The hummer rolled into the cities. Thick black smoke was rising from three different spots. Sirens still wailed in the distance. The vehicle became quiet as they looked at the havoc that had been unleashed. A cop car with its lights still going was inside the front door of a house with blood stains down the driver side door. A semi had smashed into the side of a church and took out half the building. Nobody said anything as they watched a zombie stuck under tire wheel grasp for their vehicle. The tire rolled over its hand and smashed it. The zombie kept reaching not even reacting to its arm being run over.

They moved deeper into the cities and had to stop when they came up to a wreck that blocked the street. They reversed and started to turn the hummer around. "THE FUCK IS THAT!?!" Maxi yelled and they all looked to their right. A semi barreled towards them. "EVERYONE OUT AND RUN!" The doors flew open to the hummer as everyone grabbed their stuff. Jason threw two bags over his back. Marty grabbed a bag and his pack. They all began to run. "MARTY!" Marty looked back and saw two zombies reaching out from under a car and pulling Layla under it. He grabbed her arm and drew his pistol. The engine to the Semi growing louder faster. He fired into both their head and pulled her up. Everyone was already on the other side of the street yelling at them. The semi was too close. "JUST GO!" Marty yelled and waved them off as they ran down an alley.

A few seconds later the Semi rolled by the alley and smashed into the hummer. An explosion sounded a few seconds later as Marty covered Layla as they both laid on the ground. His ears started ringing as he got off her. He blinked a few times and looked back as fire spread down the street. "You ok?" He asked and she nodded her head. They both got up as Marty's phone started ringing. "Hello?" He said and adjusted his blue tooth headset. "DUDE! ARE YOU OK!?!" Josh yelled. "My ears aren't but yea me and Layla are." He heard a sigh of relief on the other end. "Alright were heading towards The Mark." "Alright i'll find my way there." He disconnected and looked at Layla. "Alright lets get going." He reached back and took her hand. He felt her grip tightly as they fallowed the alley.

A moan made his blood run cold. They looked back at the entrance of the alley and a flaming zombie came around the corner. It spotted them and made its way towards them moaning again. Soon two others joined it. Marty and Layla started running as they dodged Garbage cans. A dumpster sat in front of a fence that blocked their path. Marty cupped his hands and helped Layla onto the Dumpster. He jumped up next to her and they climbed over the fence. It wasn't a far drop and they started moving as soon as they hit the ground. They cleared the alley and came out to a street covered with blood and bodies. "Marty there!" Layla pointed to a vespa left alone. They climbed onto it and Marty instantly tried to start it. It stalled. "Come on." Some of the bodies started moving. Layla held onto his waist tightly as they were spotted by the zombies. Marty looked up and saw the undead moving closer. "Shit! Start you piece of shit!" He commanded and it started up. He thanked god and put his pistol into it's leg holster. There wasn't much gas in it but it got them away from the undead.

The streets showed the struggle between the living and dead. Bullet casings and other temporary weapons littered the streets. The vespa moved easily through the abandoned cars as Marty and Layla made their way through the streets. "I gotta stop at my job." Marty said and pulled into the Hy-vee parking lot. They pulled up to the gas station just as the vespa died. "Huh that was lucky." He got off the vespa. Layla stayed where she was and smiled at him. "I'll be back in a sec ok?" He said and went towards the store. "Get me a Lipton tea dear!" She yelled playfully and he turned and raised an eyebrow. He shook his head and opened the door drawing his pistol as he moved inside.

The gas station was surprisingly untouched. The lights were out but other than that the register worked and the storage for the drinks. He grabbed some slim jim's stuffing them in his pack he went to the register. He began typing in to get the gas going. He "paid" for $50 worth of gas. "There half a tank's worth." He snorted at his own joke. He looked out the window and noticed Layla wasn't there. He walked around the counter. Opening the door and looked around for Layla and heard her scream. He ran towards it.

Layla watched Marty draw his pistol as he moved in. She sighed and got off the scooter and started stretching. She had "Borrowed" his old invader zim shirt. It came up a bit revealing her stomach as she stretched. "You know it isn't safe for a girl to be alone in a time like this." She jumped when she heard someone speak. A man wearing a very long shirt and his pants down low was staring at her. "N-no i'm fine my boyfriend just went inside." She motioned towards the store. He raised his shirt and revealed a pistol. "I don't think he's gonna come back for ya." She swallowed and he walked up to her. She sat back down on the scooter and reached into the ammo bag. She felt a knife in the bag and gripped it. He reached out to grab her and she swung with the knife. It cut the palm of his hand and he cursed. He immediately grabbed her making her yelp and drop the knife. He wrapped his arm around her neck and put the barrel of his pistol against her head. "You little bitch. I'm gonna make you scream. I'm going to rape you bitch." "MARTY!" She screamed and fought against his grip.

"Let her go." Marty said and trained his pistol on the man holding Layla. "Not another step closer or the bitch gets it." Marty scowled and trained the pistol on his head. He couldn't get a clear shot because of Layla. He started to lower his pistol. "Yea thats right. You's just a bitch." Marty smirked. "You left the safety on." He looked at his gun and Marty fired. The man dropped and Layla ran over to Marty and hid behind him. The man clutched his knee and let the pistol drop. He reached for it but Marty put his foot on it. He kicked him hard in the face and the man fell back. Marty picked up the gun and examined it. "Holy shit you really did have the safety on." He handed the glock to Layla. She put it in the pack and picked up the knife. She handed it to Marty. He walked up to the man and flashed the knife. He jammed it into the wound and twisted.

The man yelled and Marty yanked it out and dropped it. "You always respect women." He said as the man cursed at him. He put his pistol into its holster. He put the gas nozzle into the vespa. "I'd suggest you get moving. The dead love the smell of blood. Much like sharks." Marty turned towards him and rolled his eyes back. "Leave now or you shall Rest...In...Peace!" He said doing his best undertaker impression. The man began stumbling off. "Are you serious?" Layla said and sat on the scooter. "I don't know. I only know it from a video game." He said and smiled at her. "Thanks Marty." She smiled and shyly hid her face. He smiled and walked up to her gently kissing her forehead. The gas pump stopped and they were on the road again.

The vespa stopped and Marty and Layla stared in horror. An SCP container the shape and size of two shipping container sat wide open. Blood and body parts littered the streets. Discarded weapons laid on the sides. They got off the scooter and walked closer to the container. Marty took out his pistol and Layla grabbed the gun pack putting across her back. She stayed behind Marty as they moved closer towards the container. They stopped before the opening and stared in horror at what they saw. Skinless bodies lay on the ground. Their eyes watching them. Layla began whimpering and hid her face in his back. He reached back and moved them away from the container.

Layla threw up on the back of a Buick and took a deep breath and threw up again. Marty gagged and went back to shut the container when he heard something wet move. "Oh you gotta be shitting me." He said and looked back in the container. The bodies began to rise and looked right at him. "Layla. Run. NOW!" He yelled and kicked the door shut and ran grabbing Layla's hand. He almost yanked her off her feet but she started running. The door flew open as the skinless zombies began fallowing them. He looked back and saw one of them start running while the rest stumbled along. "Shit." He kept running. "OVER HERE!" He heard someone yell. They looked around. "MARTY!" Layla yelled and pointed to a person holding the door open to a bank and waving at them.

They flew through the doors and they were slammed shut. A second later the zombie smacked the door and locked eyes with Marty. He stared back panting and gave it the finger. "Suck it." He said and wrapped an arm around Layla as she collapsed onto him. "You guys ok?" The man who let them in asked and they nodded. "Yea were fine." "Good. My names George. I was the security guard for this place." He held out a hand and they shook. "Nice to meet ya. I'm Marty and this is Layla." Layla shook his hand and nodded at him. "Hi." "Where'd you two come from?" He asked and led them away from the entrance. The zombie on the other side objecting very vocally and began smacking the door as his prey walked away. The zombies moan sent chills down Marty's spine. Its like it was calling for him.

"We were in the Cities but then we left for New Windsor. Things weren't better there. Then this SCP container dropped down and this creature came out. I can't describe what it's like besides a giant creature from doom 3." Marty explained as they were led up a flight of stairs. The second floor had survivors sitting on the floor. "Yea that container arrived yesterday. It brought those skinless zombies you saw. A group came by and opened it and they were quickly overwhelmed." A few survivors looked at them. "They've taken quite a few people I saw." Marty said and felt Layla grip his hand tight. He squeezed her back. "Yea so we've been stuck in here." "That sucks dude. How are you for supplies?" George ran a hand through his dark hair. "Not good. Were running low. The waters still on. At least we have that."

The sound of the glass door breaking made everyone jump and look at the entrance for the stairs. "Oh shit." George said. The moans were heard and everyone began picking up weapons. "Layla stay behind me." Marty said and raised his pistol. A few seconds the regular dead came charging in. Their moans for food soon drowned out by gunfire. The gunshots in the room louder in the enclosed space. People threw desk chairs and whatever else they could at them. The dead just kept coming. Layla screamed and Marty looked back at her as he reloaded. She pointed and he looked. The skinless zombie stood behind the crowd and stared at them. "Shit." He grabbed her and began running out of the room.

They ran down the hallway with other people who had the same idea. Layla holding on Marty's hand for dear life as they ran. George was ahead of them directing people up another set of stairs. They charged up the stairs. People got off at the 3rd floor but Marty and Layla kept going up. They got to the roof access door and tried to open it. It didn't budge. Screams came from the lower floors and the gunfire began to fade. Marty took a few steps back then kicked the door. It didn't move. He kicked it again making it wiggle. He looked at Layla and she nodded. They both kicked the door and it flew open breaking a layer of dried grease. They ran out just as something came up the steps. They slammed it shut and heard wet slapping on the door. They backed up and gripped each other's hands tightly. The door opened up and the skinless zombie came out.

It stared at them and turned it head slightly. Marty raised his pistol and fired. But nothing happened. He looked and saw the clip sticking partway out. "OH crap." It was jammed with a sticking straight up. He ejected it and tried to fix it but the zombie charged them. He dropped the gun and clip as he reached for his machete. He shoved Layla away and stabbed the zombie in the chest. Layla scrambled to her knee's and searched for the glock. The zombie pushed Marty back as he pushed the blade deeper. The zombie gripped his shirt and tried to bite him. He put his other hand against the zombies neck and tried pushing it back. It's teeth clicked as it tried to bite him. Layla took out the glock and fired. Nothing happened. Layla ejected the clip. Empty. She began frantically searching the bag. Tears began filling her eyes as she began to fear losing Marty. Marty kicked the zombie in the chest and tore the blade out. It took a few steps out and snarled at him. "BRING IT ON YOU LITTLE BITCH!" Marty yelled and readied the blade. It ran at him and he slashed. IT got stuck in its shoulder and knocked it over a bit. It stumbled past him and towards the edge. They were five stories up. It turned around and Marty ran and kicked the zombie in the chin knocking it off the roof. It fell right onto a car making the alarm go off. The blade of the machete breaking and driving into the zombies spine. The zombie stopped moving instantly. Marty fell back and landed on his butt panting.

Layla ran up to him and wrapped her arms around his neck. She started crying instantly and kept a tight grip on him. He wrapped his arms around her and began rubbing her back. "It's ok it's dead." He said and she tightened her grip around his neck. "Air....Layla...Air." He gasped and she loosened her grip. "Sorry i just thought i'd lose you to." He shook his head and gave her a smile. "Hey i'm gonna live forever." he said and she snorted and smiled. "I hate you." She said and punched him in the chest lightly.

"Are you looking at my ass?" Layla said as they climbed down the fire escape. "Uh...No." Marty said and looked away. They climbed down the side of the bank. Marty dropped down and took out his pistol. They moved out of the alley into the street. They watched a lone zombie shuffle into the bank. "Lets get to the Vespa." Marty said and Layla grabbed his hand. "Alright i can live with that." They ran to the vespa and started it up as a skinless zombie shuffled out of the container and looked at them. Marty reached for his pistol but it was gone. "huh?" Layla held up the pistol and fired. Marty grabbed his right ear as the zombie dropped. "DAMMIT!" He yelled and smacked the vespa. "Oh crap Marty I'm so sorry!" Layla apologized. Marty looked at her and he could only partially hear her. "What?" He pointed to his right ear. "I didn't think the gunshot would hurt you." "Right next to my ear." He groaned.

"Hey i think we should find a place to hide." Layla said as the Vespa sped down the sidewalk. Marty looked up and saw the sun getting ready to set. "Alright any ideas?" Marty said and slowed down the scooter. "Only one." She pointed and he fallowed her finger. She pointed to city hall. "That would work." Marty said and moved the vehicle towards the building. He stopped it on the sidewalk in front of the building. "Remember where we parked." He said and got a stare from Layla.

The door opened up showing papers scattered everywhere. The lights on showed no threats or signs of movement. They moved in and shut the door and locked it. "Lets get to the mayors office. We can hunker down there for the night." Marty said and got a nod from Layla. He kept his pistol as they moved up the steps to the second floor. The building was still in great shape considering what was happening.

They stopped when they heard someone talking. "Then maybe then i could have become governor." They heard a hiccup. They moved down a hall and pushed open the door. The mayor sat in a chair numerous bottles of alcohol were opened and spread across his desk. "Mr. Jacobson?" Marty said and lowered his pistol. "Yea what the hell do you want?" He replied drunkenly and squinted at them. "Why-" "Am i drunk? There's no hope for humanity left." He said and spun around in his chair taking a drink. "What do you mean?" Layla said and stood beside Marty. "We created this virus that has turned my once proud city into a lousy shit hole." He took another drink and stood up clumsily from his chair.

Leaning against the window he watched a zombie shuffle down the street. It wandered aimlessly as he continued talking. "The government created it. It was a way for people to lose weight but turned out it kills people then reanimates them a few minutes later." Layla grabbed a bottle and put it into their pack. Marty looked at her and arched an eyebrow. She shrugged and stuck her tongue out at him. The mayor chuckled. "Kind of scary isn't it? Now these SCP containers dropping down from the sky. Releasing foul creatures wherever." He took another drink and slumped down. "What does SCP stand for?" Marty asked and put his hands on the desk.

The mayor looked at him. "Secret Containment Protocol. They create B.O.W.'s for biological warfare. I imagine you've had a few run ins with them?" Marty nodded and Layla shuttered. "Well there's three of those damn containers on this side of the river." "Two now." Marty said and Layla nodded. "Well then aren't you two ahead of this goddamn game!" He yelled and threw the bottle into the wall. "This isn't a game! People are dead. Real people. People who had lives, careers, and families!" Marty glared at him. The mayor started laughing.

"These are war games!" He got up and sat back at his desk. "Were nothing more that test subjects to the government. They promised to pull those of us who worked for the government out. But that plan has gone to shit!" He took another drink. "This whole country is a testing ground. Their recording data right now as we speak." He took out a folder and threw it at Layla's feet. She picked it up and opened it. She covered her mouth instantly. Pictures of people being put into area's with creatures. The one that attacked New Windsor and the skinless zombies. "I've got no more use for this city." He stood up. "If you'll please. I wanna be alone." He turned his back to them and leaned against the window again. The street light's started to turn on.

They shut the door and Layla kept going through the folder. The sound of breaking glass startled them. Marty ran back to the mayor's office and opened it up. The room was empty and window was broken. He walked up to it and leaned out. The mayor laid awkwardly on the ground. Blood poured from his head and a bottle rolled away from him. He moved away from the window grabbing another bottle from the desk. He turned Layla away and shook his head at her.

"Just look at some of these!" Layla said and pointed to another one that showed a group of skinless zombies holding down a person. Marty grabbed the picture and shook his head. Taking a drink he put the photo back and turned on the Plasma TV and started watching a random show. Some channels still playing its shows to keep survivors happy. Layla kept reading and looking at the pictures.

His phone began ringing and he hit his bluetooth. "What?" "Rude." Josh said on the other end. "Were at the Mark where are you?" Josh said looking a poster for the local hockey team. "Were crashing at City hall tonight." "Nice having fun in the mayor's office." Josh said and Marty smirked. "We got something to show you to." "Holy shit you knocked her up. MAX YOUR BROTHER'S GONNA BE A FATHER!" "DEAR GOD NO!" He heard on the other end. "That's it I'm hanging up." He said. "Alright whatever see you tomorrow Bro." "Yea you will." He said and shut off his phone.

Josh laughed and pushed Max. Jason picked up a piece of pizza from the concession stand and started eating it. Tyler came down the stairs. "Lots of locked doors. No zombies though." "Kinda weird we didn't find any as soon as we entered the parking lot." Josh said and shouldered the garand. Something dropped down from above in the shape of a can. "What in the hell?" Jason watched it fall and they all stared at it. It exploded with a blinding flash and deafening noise. They all laid on the ground as dozens of guns were pointed at their faces. "FREEZE!" Jason got up and brought his rifle up. Immediately a tazer was shot into his side and dropped him. Josh rolled around covering his eyes. Max laid on the ground holding her ears. A man smoking a cigar walked up to them. "Well Well Well boys. Looks like we got us some new inmates." He said and smiled at them.

Marty gently rubbed Layla's head as she laid on him sleeping soundly. The couch was leather and comfortable. He watched TV as she cuddled up closer to him. The mayor's words still fresh in his mind. Playing ground. He closed his eyes and put his head back. He slowly drifted off to sleep.

The sun rose and Layla gently shook Marty. "Hey wake up lets get moving." She said. Marty felt his neck pop as he straightened it. "OH god my neck is stiff. I hope you slept well." He rubbed his neck and she stuck her tongue out at him again. "Really?" He said and she giggled.

They shut the door and started to leave city hall. They reached the bottom of the stairwell when they heard the front doors burst open. A group of armed men stormed the first floor. Marty and Layla quickly ran back up the steps. They threw open the door to get out of the stairwell and was met with guns pointed at their faces. "Drop your weapons slowly." One of them said. "Do what they say Layla." They put the bag and guns down. They kept their hands raised as their weapons were confiscated. "Looks like we got two more for the warden." One of them said. Layla reached over and grabbed Marty's hand. He gripped her back tightly as a man with aviators and cigar walked up to them. "Looks like we got ourselves a couple of lovebirds. Come here you." He said and yanked Layla away from Marty. "LAYLA!" Marty kept a tight hold of her hand and tried to fight off the people that tried to push him back. "MARTY!" She screamed and their hands separated.

Marty felt a rage build up inside of him and began fighting. He punched on of them in the throat making him back up coughing. He kicked another in the knee making him drop them delivered a kick to his temple knocking him out. Marty grabbed the baton from his belt and flicked it out. He smacked another in the face with it and turned to hit another one when he got a baton to his side. He dropped and let the baton roll away. The cigar man walked up and crouched down beside him. "Wrong move boy-o." He stood up and took a drag from his cigar. Marty began to get up and noticed he was walking away from him. Marty was on all fours when he saw the cigar man turn around. "These are my men YOU COCKSUCKER!" He punted Marty in the face his boot making contact with the side of his head. Marty fell over and his world began to fade. "MARTY!" Was the last thing he heard as the cigar man took out a pair of handcuffs.

"Time to wake up cupcake." Marty felt someone lightly slap his cheek. He groaned and slowly opened his eyes. His arms were handcuffed the armrests of the chair he sat in. He began pulling against them. "I wouldn't do that if i were you." Marty got a face full of smoke and coughed. The man with the cigar walked around him. Marty felt dried blood on the side of his face. He scowled at him. "The boss man wants to talk to ya." He grabbed Marty's chair and spun it around. A desk with his belonging's spread out across it was in front of him. The file from the mayor opened up.

"Marty is it?" The man on the other side of the desk threw Marty's wallet at him and it landed with his driver's license showing. Marty nodded. "I've been looking through that file we found in your pack. Pretty interesting stuff. But it also show's that you have been conspiring with the government before all this happened." "What?" Marty said and shook the cobwebs out of his head. "I got that file from the mayor." He blinked and shook his head again. "I don't believe the mayor of the Quad Cities could be behind it. Seems more like you since we found the mayor outside dead. Looked like he'd been pushed out the window."

"Wait are you really interrogating me during a zombie Apocalypse?" The cigar man snorted. Marty heard him open up the door. "Well we could interrogate you or we can see how much that girl knows." "YOU LEAVE HER ALONE!" Marty yelled and yanked against his handcuffs. He immediately regretted it. "Oh? So you really care for her don't you?" He smiled and hit a button on his desk. Marty saw the name Michaels on his shirt. "Wait a minute are we-" "Yes we are. Your at the prison boy." He smiled evilly at Marty.

A few minutes later the door opened up and the cigar guy came in with a wheelchair. Marty tried to see who was in it but he couldn't turn his head far enough to see who. "Well i know torture is against the law but hey whatever we can do to get you to talk." Michaels stood up walked around him. He smiled and patted his head. He came back held a pair of pliers. He spun it on his finger as he walked around Marty.

"You know before the dead rose this prison used to be a great one. Until that DAMN recession. We began loosing funding because the government began taking the side of people who whined that the death penalty was too inhumane. Can you believe that? Rapists, murderers, and psychopath's not getting what they deserve just cause some people who had never had anything bad happen to them were crying. If only they knew what those bastards do to families." He put the pliers around Marty's finger. Marty felt his heart rate increase. Michaels stared into his eyes.

"But now we have new ways to make them pay!" He said suddenly getting cheery and pulled the pliers away. Marty let out a sigh of relief. "Enough about this place. Time to find out who is really behind this file. You or the mayor." He motioned for the wheelchair to move up. The tires squeaked and the chair came even with him. Layla was out cold with a gag in her mouth. "Layla." Marty said and tried to reach out to her. The cuff's digging into his skin. "If you won't talk then we'll get your girlfriend to." Michaels walked over to her and put the pliers on the desk. He grabbed her by her hair. "Wake up bitch." He said and smacked her. She let out a squeal and looked at Marty. "DON'T HURT HER!" Marty yelled and fought against the restraints. "Tell me who gave you the folder." He smacked her again. "THE MAYOR!" Marty pulled harder against the handcuff's. Blood began to flow from his wounds. Michaels sat on her lap. "Last chance." He grabbed her hand. "THE MAYOR THE GODDAMN MAYOR!" Michaels shook his head. "Such a shame." He pulled her finger back with a snap. She yelled in pain and began crying. Tears flowed down her face. "YOU BASTARD I'LL FUCKING KILL YOU!" Marty pulled against the restraints. The chair shaking as he fought against them.

Michaels grabbed another finger. "HIS NAME WAS TRENT!" Marty yelled and lowered his head. He saw michaels let go of her finger and looked at him. "Was that so hard?" He snapped her finger back into place and she let out another cry. "I'm just letting you know though. The second you let me out i'm going to rip your Damn throat out." Marty said and let his hair cover his eyes. Michaels dropped down in front of Marty and stared at him. "Them your lucky i'm not letting you out." He stood up and kicked Marty in the chest knocking the chair backwards. Marty's chest burned and michaels walked around and crouched down over him. "Next time you threaten me i'll feed you to the undead inmates." He stood up and walked back to the desk. "Take him and throw him in a cell." "What about her?" "Make sure she is as far away from him as she can be."

"MARTY!" Layla yelled as he was dragged out chair and all. "LAYLA!" He yelled and watched as she was taken away from him. He fought against the cuffs and yelled in anger. "I'M GOING TO BURN THIS PLACE DOWN AND SEND YOU ALL TO HELL!" He yelled and yanked against the cuffs. "LAYLA I LOVE YOU! I'LL SEE YOU AGAIN I PROMISE!" He yelled and waited. "I love you to!" Marty sat back in the chair and closed his eyes trying to calm down.

"Open cell 34b." The cigar man said into his walkie and pushed the chair into the cell and the door shut. Marty sat in the chair glaring at him. The cigar man took out the keys to the handcuffs and taunted him. "Lookie here oops." He dropped them just outside the cell. "Sleep tight." He said and left. Marty instantly began tugging on the cuffs as warm blood trickled down his hands. He yanked hard until he heard movement behind him. "Easy there son i got it." A man in an orange jumpsuit said and walked over to the keys and grabbed them. He unlocked one of Marty's hands them handed him the keys. "Thanks." He said and unlocked his other hand. "Were all in dis together. Names Craig." He extended a hand and Marty shook it. "Marty." "Holy shit Marty!"

Marty looked back and tucked the handcuffs into his pocket. Tyler jumped down from the top bunk. "Shit Tyler!" They bumped fists. "I didn't think we'd ever see you again." Tyler said and smiled. "Same here." Marty couldn't help but smile. Craig climbed onto the bottom bunk and opened up a book as he started reading again. Marty rubbed his sore wrists. "Here." Tyler handed him two bandana's. Marty nodded and wrapped them around his wrists. "Ok that feels a lot better." He made sure they were tied tight and smiled. "Wheres Max? And Josh?" "Max go put in the kitchen. Josh on the other hand is stuck in a cell somewhere." "Great." Marty sat down on the floor. "You know theres a perfectly good chair right there." Tyler said and Marty stared at him. "What?"

"Chow time." Was heard and the cell doors opened. Craig was out fallowed Marty and Tyler. "Kinda bad when there's not guards to escort us there." "Where would we run? Right into the zombie world outside?" Craig said and they walked towards the mess hall. They were in line for food and Marty examined the room. Two guards stood posted by the doors they entered. No other security from what he could see. He grabbed a tray and got the food. He stopped when he got bread and stared at Layla. She had tears running down her cheeks. "Layla." She put an extra piece of bread on his tray. "Layla?" "Please Marty take the bread and go." She said and part of her lip twitched. He walked over and sat next to Tyler. Josh and Jason looked at them. "Look who i found." "Shit!" Josh reached over and they hugged. "Great to see you man." Marty said and Josh nodded. "Same to you." They smiled. At least Josh hadn't changed. Jason nodded at him. "Thank god your alive." He said and smirked.

A commotion brought then all to look over at a table as two black men stood up and began cursing at each other. One of the guards left his post to go and shut them up. He pumped his shotgun as he walked over. Marty lifted up his piece of bread and a note sat in it. He opened it up. 5873 Whats that mean?

"Alright break it up you two break it-" He was interrupted when one inmate grabbed him from behind and slit his throat. He dropped the shotgun into an inmates hands as he brought it around and fired into the guard by the doors stomach. The guard dropped instantly and everyone was running. The ones carrying weapons ran out first and soon gunfire fallowed.

The group ran towards and kitchen. Marty and Layla embraced as Josh and Tyler jumped the counter. "Are you ok?" He said and motioned for his sister. "Yea i'm fine how about you?" "I've better. Come on lets go." They ran into the kitchen and out another door. Marty took out a pair of handcuffs and put them over his fist. He had a weapon but it wouldn't do him any good in a gunfight. The alarm went off as the inmates revolted against their former captors. The group stopped as they came to a corner. "Parking garage is to the right." Jason said and crouched and looked around the corner. "No guards." Marty crept up to the front. "Ok i have a plan." He gather the guys around him. "Tyler and Jason hot wire us a ride out of here." Tyler nodded. "Why are you giving the orders?" Jason said smirking at Marty. "Do you not want to hot wire a bus?" "Ok what are you and Josh gonna do?" "Were going to find weapons. Hopefully our weapons."

Marty and Josh ran down a corridor as the gunfire continued. They stopped and peaked around a corner. "Looks like we got a guard." Josh said and slowly crept down the corridor. The guard was putting a bench in front of a door. "Route B to parking garage secure. Returning to kitchen." He said into his walkie. He turned around and came face to face with Marty. "Hi there." He brought his fist back then rammed the handcuffs into the guards face dropping his instantly. "Shit! You gotta get me a pair!" Josh said and Marty handed him the other pair out of his pocket. "Oh god you did knock Layla up didn't you?" "I DIDN'T!"

Michaels pulled out his Remington from under his desk. "Hello beautiful." He said and pumped it. He walked out of his office and began his hunt.

Josh stopped at the cage for equipment. "Shit it needs a security code." Marty rubbed the back of his head and examined it. He stopped and took out the note. He punched in the code and it beeped. The door slammed shut as they began grabbed weapons. Marty grabbed a USP off the rack and examined it. He grabbed a holster and attached it to his leg. He put the gun into its holster and a wave of relief went through Marty as he grabbed a bag and filled it with weapons and ammo. "Alright grab all the ammo we leave in five!" They heard from the hall. Flinging two bags over his shoulder they ran out of the room. Josh taped a grenade to the wall and tied a shoestring around the handle of the door. The turn and ran down the opposite direction the voices came from.

Sprinting down the hall a few seconds later they heard a loud explosion and some screams. Josh and Marty stopped when they heard boots stomping down the stairs. "Some one has it out for me today." Marty said and they saw three sets of guards burst out into hallway. "HEY GET THEM!" Michaels yelled and a hail of bullets came down around them. They ducked into a room and kept running.

Bursting out a set of doors a zombie shuffled towards them. "Shit here to?" Josh said and Marty nodded. They turned the other direction and stopped a pair of doors chained shut as the undead grasped at them. "Oh shit." They turned and ran past the one shuffling around. The door broke open and the dead shuffled in. A familiar sound made Marty look back.

A skinless zombie shot out of the group towards them. Something was off about this one. He didn't care he kept running. They burst into the parking garage as a bus roared to life. "All aboard! Next stop HELL USA!" Tyler yelled and waved them over. They ran and jumped into the bus just as another set of doors burst open. "THERE SHOT THEM DON'T LET THEM ESCAPE!" Michaels yelled as the guards opened fire. Another set of doors opened and the zombies shuffled in. The skinless ahead of them. It turned towards the bus as it rolled out. Tyler grabbed an Mp5 from the bag and loaded it. "Hello beautiful. He went towards the back and opened the door. He began firing to keep the guards behind cover as they rolled out of the garage. "HANG ON!" Jason yelled and Tyler shut the door as they crashed through the garage door the bright sunlight nearly blinding them.

The jail was starting to burn as some inmates started a fire. Craig stood in a guard tower with a sniper rifle its previous own on the ground below the tower. He grabbed a radio when he saw Tyler wave. "Leaving already? The funs just begun." Jason grabbed the radio. "Sorry but we've got plans tonight. You think you can hold this place down while were gone?" Craig smiled and fired into a zombie that shuffled out. "Oh I think i can manage." "See you on the other side craig." Tyler said into the radio. "Theres no seeing you guys where i'm going." Tyler smirked and sat down. The bus shook as they broke through the gates and back onto the street as they drove away from the prison.

Marty let out a sigh and gripped Layla's hand tightly. Josh patted Max on the head and she smiled at him. "Hey guys." We got company." Jason said and they all looked back. Michaels hung out the side of a window and held a shotgun in his hands. He pumped it and fired at the bus. A loud pop was heard and the bus began swerving. "SHIT SORRY GUYS!" Jason yelled and the bus tipped onto its side. The last thing Marty saw was the terrified look on Layla's face as he hit the side of the bus and knocked unconcious.

(sorry for the delay on this one. I promise the next part will not take as long for me to put out for you guys. :P *BROFIST* for all the bros of pewdiepie)
