Help needed: Safariland shopping list

Postby crypto » Thu May 10, 2012 11:43 pm

Guys, I'm getting frustrated trying to figure out what to order here to kit out B3's war belt.

We're trying to set it up as close as possible to her duty belt, which means we need a safariland 6280.

What the fuck do I need to order to hook it up to a molle belt? I dont need something modular so it snaps on and off, I just want something to firmly attach it to the webbing, where it will stay forever.

What kinda belt you using? My hsgi just lets me go up under the molle part and attach to the rigger underneath...

only stuff I can think of is here

I think dave used some of the molle locks...http://www.blade-tech.com/Molle-Lok-Lar ... -1026.html
unscrew the three point attachment on your holster and use the holes in the molle lock to screw to that, bingo bango attach molle locks to molle. Apparently they are tough stuff and should hold decently.

okay thats awesome, but since thats all blade-tech stuff, its not going to work. Different holster company, different hole pattern for molle adapters.

Its a ATS war belt, the big padded kind with the molle loops on it. the inner belt wont work because its not a drop holster.

yeah theres like 10 things on that page, and only some fit some items. Thats where I was at before I started this thread.

I *think* that the MLS 15 is all I need but I wanted confirmation from someone who has a safariland holster attached directly to molle before I bought anything.

I have the MLS mounted on the back of my kukri sheath and it attaches quite well to my molle vest (upside down) or my drop leg (right side up). If you are asking if it works well then the answer is yes it is a positive retention system by its self on MOLLE.

Yeah, thats exactly what I'm asking. what mechanism do you attach it to the molle with? The back side of the MLS holsters just has a duty belt loop or a paddle, doesnt it? Or did you get that plastic picklefork-looking MLS-15 to do it?

Get a Safariland Mid Ride UBL and screw your 6280 holster body to it. It'll end up sitting just under the bottom edge of the War Belt, similar to this:

This is the SLS hood holster, but the attachment is the same as all the other hard shell holsters they've made in the last five years or so. This should help you visualize what I'm talking about:

Here's a pic of it on my Kukri.

I have had no issues with it trying to come out.

Heyyyy, thats hot. I like that a lot. Her's is a SLS hood holster too. Thats perfect, I think, and what I'm going to do when I switch out my SERPA for a Safariland. Thanks!

This is, I think, perfect for my wife's setup, since she has a belt-line holster for her duty rig. Thanks a lot!

Good data, people, I appreciate it.
