Several knives, throwing spikes, hatchet, tomahawk...that's about it, and I'm not great at hand to hand combat (but I can blind you at 20 ft with those spikes  ) but let's hope hubby is home too  Another reason (in case I didn't have enough already) to get those guns soon!

I have the same things as earlier, but I will have to stand up for the knives not on my person.
Can't leave them down & loose with the little'un around.

Oh wait, the extremely sharp scissors are new.
I had no idea scissors ever came that sharp.

Right now is the perfect subject for a thread.

I am presently at my restaurant which is located on a University campus, so I have an ample supply of very effective hand to hand weaponry in the form of various knives. I also have my 4 wheel drive suburban located very close to the exit, so I would be able to load out either immediately or after bugging in for a short time.

Another very interesting thing about my locale would be that on campus is the police college and the campus security office. The university is also a location that would be very easy to fortify areas so as to be able to bug in as there are metal plate drop down doors which can be lowered into position and then locked into place.

The university is also located on the border of our city so getting out would be a very simple matter of 2 minutes drive. The one major complication however would be my wife and kids. Dependant upon the scenario that is taking place it might or might not be possible to get a message through to my wife to get my kids from school. I am pretty certain that I would most definitely arm up and head to my kids school which is a 5 minute drive at 50 kliks and then a 7 minute drive at 70 kliks to my daughters high school. Both of which are situated on the outskirts of our town which would be a bonus versus congestion.

I will say this as well, considering my military training I would have little to no hesitation to flip the killswitch if I encountered someone who has passed to zombification. It would also depend upon what kind of zombie we are looking at as to whether or not I would engage. This goes for anyone from stranger to immediate family member. I have often shook my head at how people in the movies are hesitant to dispatch a family member who is quite obviously no longer a normal human being.

There are also more than a few stores within 2-5 minutes which would make it possible to procur weaponry and other goods, yet, this also depends on the severity of how things go down. I am confident that I would be more than able to withstand the initial onlslaught and be able to procur better weaponry within the next few days from scavenging.

Got a big, heavy cast-iron skillet drying in the sink within arm's reach, as I happen to be in the kitchen.

Right this second I have a Mac laptop, 14lb cat, Droid X2 cell phone, Recoil magazine and a Wii remote.

Within about 5 second reach I have a Smith & Wesson H.R.T. knife, Turkish 8mm Mauser with eight rounds of ammo and a Marlin .22 LR with about 150 rounds of ammo.

Arsenal SGL 21-94 with a thirty-round magazine... about four inches away from me at the moment. When I'm home, it rarely leaves my sight.

Within arm's reach?

Let's see- I have a pair of paper scissors, a number of ball-point pens and drawing pencils, an X-acto knife (with extra blades), a bright LED flashlight, a heavy coffee mug, two commemorative lock-back knives on display stands, and let's see what else... ...oh, yes- a Browning Hi-Power with three full mags.

At work - I work out of my truck. Inside the cab I have a couple of bolt action pistols under the back seat not really much use in an emergency situation. 1911 on my hip w/2 extra mags, benchmade activator, misc poket stuff. Floor in front of center console - couple of estwing chipping hammers, various hand tools. passenger floorboard 150-200 ponds of little steel rods between 1/16 and 1/4 inc in diameter and 14 inches long - (they throw ans stick well) - back floorboards, another 200-300 pounds of similar rods, assorted hand tools, 14 inch gas powered rescue saw, HILTI .27 cal semi auto fastener. Back of the truck - enough acetylene and oxygen to relocate a horde, assorted hand tools including 12-15 different size hammers, and if you really, really need some act right... 575 AMPS of straight DC goodness delivered through up to 300 feet of the finest 3/0 lead you could ever hope to drag.

I'm holding a lap top and I can smash that over someones head. I have a Mossberg 500 2 feet away as I type. My 1911 and AR are in the next room next to the go-go bag. Also, I have knives in my kitchen.
