Don't worry to much about screwing your character up in FO3, if you are really concerned about it just make a save before major plot points, but the minor ones don't factor in all that much to be honest.

It was the G.O.A.T. trait stuff in the beginning, and then the perks assignments later on that stressed me out. Skyrim makes it much clearer which path you are taking, and you see the benefits right away.

That is because Elder Scrolls is more "class" based, FO is more mix and match.

At least that is what I remember FO3 being like, it has been a long while since I played it, maybe I'll install that FONV mod that lets you play in FO3 areas. Anyway, if you do play again, the biggest 3 to tag are normally Guns, Sneak, Lockpick. The GOAT thing, you just skip and select your own stats, but if your wanting to play a sneaky shooty guy go perception, intelligence and agility. If you don't want to be sneaky, use Endurance and Agility.

I remember Oblivion being really class based, it seems Skyrim gave a bit more choice to the player this time around, which I like.

I went to start the companion missions and I walked in the building in whiterun where the companions are, and Farqas starts conversation with me. I tried every possible answer to him and he doesn't leave me alone. I exit the conversation and right away he comes up to me and talks. When i try sprinting away from him I can but when I go to fast travel it says I can't because guards are after me. Very bad glitch on the makers part.

I have nothing for this one, unless you accidentally stole something, have you tried talking to a guard to see if you have a bounty? But I agree that is a really bad bug.

I married somebody. It may have something to do with the Amulet of Talos as any PC can marry any of hte eligible NPCs - Fargas being one of them. Before I married Aria (??) Fargas followed my ass around all over the place.

Just had a thought, was hanging around the DB Sanctuary and chatting up my favourite vamp when I realised that her voice actor was cringingly awful. The dialogue wasn't the issue, but the delivery. Who ever voiced her Can NOT do evil or dark (but that might have been done purposefully for the contrast). IMO, a much better voice for her would have been Jessie Flower (voice of Toph from Avatar) or Tara Strong who has done A LOT of DC voice work. Though admittedly, Tara Strong is pretty highly prized in the voicing community (like Mark Hammil, but less famous) so she may be a bit too pricey for such a small role.

The first DLC expansion has come out today, Dawn Guard. Xbox exclusive for the first 30 days, but that just means that the bugs will get ironed out before PC release. PS3 players, your guess on the quality is as good as mine (Playstations HATE the Gamebryo engine, and this "new" Creation engine is simply Gamebryo with better make up.)

I've been playing it since it released and I'm pretty happy with it. I'll refrain from releasing any spoilers, but the new vampire/werewolf content is pretty sweet and the new dragonbone weapons are badass. Also, crossbows are neat and mounted combat is a nice change.

nice, but does it fix any of the glitches still in the game? You know, the quest killing ones, I.E. the whole reason this game has about 1/2 an inch of dust on it right now...

Quite a few of the quest-breaking bugs appear to have been patched, particularly ones which leave quest items permanently in your inventory, but many bugs yet remain. Those lucky enough to be playing on the PC can work around them with the command console and via certain mods, but those of us stuck playing it on a 360 must simply work carefully alongside the wiki to avoid certain bugs when possible. Then there are the PS3 guys... If you fall into the latter category, all I can do is apologize.

Anyway, I fall into the category of playing on the 360 and utilizing the wiki to sideskirt game-breaking (or just super-annoying) bugs. It does break immersion a little, but we do what we must. I started a new character after Dawnguard launched and have been doing well to keep my game mostly bug-free, which hasn't been terribly difficult. I think it's safe to say most of the really bad bugs have been fixed, more or less.

I sided with the vampires with my original character, but switched over to the Dawnguard with my new character, primarily because playing with such a heavily archery-centric build it made me cry to have to miss out on the enhanced dwarven crossbow.

Seriously, though. Crossbows and dragonbone weapons. The only thing that would be better would be... a dragonbone crossbow! Dawnguard definitely revived Skyrim for me.

Dammit I'm sucked into this fucker again. I've pretty much doubled my play time over the last week and a half (girlfriend working nights!! HAHA). I wish I'd had a clearer direction when I started (and now am too deep to bother starting over). I've ended up an archer/thief/armor&weapon making fool, but could be better at all of those if I hadn't squandered about a dozen level up points on some bullshit magic stuff I was experimenting with.

I've decided to join the stormcloaks. I think both the empire and SC's are douchey, but I hate the empire more (Starwar's fault ). I'm also on a mission to find a better house than Whiterun just because.

The only thing I hate about this game is that I don't feel like I'm getting anywhere! I get 10 new quests for every one I finish. Shit, just trying to escort some broad to a town down the road landed me 3 quests from asshats jumping me along the way and having to pass by a mine.

I'm on pc, and I do have to say that it is the most beautiful environment in any game I've seen. The night sky gets me every time.
