Weeelll, with sandbags, it gets doable, if one happens to have a scope on a handgun, it gets really doable. Even if it's kinda windy.

If that's too much advantage for this shoot I'm fine with it, I had fun at the range doing it anyway.

Maybe next month elric will run a match where we all press the muzzles up against the targets and pull the trigger, and then you ladies can send in a target.

My targets are in, thank you. I wanted to make sure I followed rules, since I've never done a postal match, nor had touched a handgun in about 22 years. I look forward to future matches, and if some of them have more limits (standing, one handed, greater distance, whatever) that will be fun too.

Holy crap! After printing the targets this is going to more challenging than I thought. Should be fun though.

Did I mention they're not torso sized, but only 8.5x11? :D

Shot the match this morning and I learned 4 things:
1) Outside of 15 yrds. give me a rifle
2) I need some serious trigger time on my handguns
3) Its good to challenge myself beyond "self defense" distance with handguns
4) There's always next month

Will be emailing my pathetic targets this evening.

Should I bother sending in blank targets?

It was tough not to run a couple extras out there, and try again

...If you havent shot it yet, SHOOT AS YOU WOULD A RIFLE! (Didn't figure it out till after 2 14rd mags of practice/3 hits) ...and yeah, rest on a bench (though it was an awkward bench with no chair, and I hurt my wittle knee on a spent shell  )

Sent target pics on my phone... so they may be anywhere, if you can let me know if they came through!

I was a bit surprised that I got six shots on the paper. After practicing for a bit I thought the paper would be pretty safe. I didn't include my score in the email, I figured they would be scored by an impartial judge.

I wish I'd tuned into this thread a little sooner. I have been focused on an event and haven't been trolling like I should I suppose. Postal shoots are always great fun and I hope to see more of them! We did them a lot in the Grand Army of the Frontier and I had a ball with them. I look forward to seeing more - I really like the constraints. (handgun only, 25 yrd, etc.)

Good work!
And good luck to all who entered!

We have our winner.

tookieblueeyes, with a total score of 66 points (that match ammo is great stuff), one of those shots being a perfect bullseye. I will be in touch with someone from the board to get you a prize picked out and sent.

The following was the equipment she(?) used.

Weapon - Taurus .22 6 shooter with Iron Sight
Ammunition - CCI Short Target Precision 22 Short Lead Round Nose 830 FPS 29 Grain Rapid Fire Pistol Competition

Our honorable mentions are duodecima and Troy Adam, who shot impressive strings with their .22lr semi-autos, El Bandito who shot his with a 9mm Glock 17, and MingTheMerciless who shot his with an Advantage Arms Glock .22lr conversion kit.

Thank you for the congratulations! I swear the bullseye had to be luck lol but I do spend a lot a lot of time out shooting with that gun so I have tons and tons of practicing with it, mostly because .22 ammo is so cheap!

So do I get to pick out a prize or does the boar pick one out for me? I am just happy to win but always love a prize since I can't even win $2 on a $5 dollar scratch ticket! LOL

Welcome to the forums. You should pop over to the Introductions forum and introduce yourself.

This is from April. You probably want to involve yourself in the July shoot, or wait a week or so and try the August shoot (though I am moving the first weekend in August, I should have the shoot up by then)

viewtopic.php?f=107&t=96458

You can always find the current shoot because it is Stickied in the General Firearms discussion.
