I feel that I must add that suspenders + chest rig = terrible. Running just a belt rig? Cool. Running a concurrent chest rig = nogo on the suspenders.

Not doubting you, I just want to ask why, as I have been wearing flat suspenders under my chest rig at the range with no problems. My range trips usually last a 3-4 hours and I am only able to move forward and backward when no one else is there. That may be the reason I have not noticed a problem yet, or it could just be inexperience. I have a TT single piece Mav with x harness.

I've had zero issues with running lo-pro style suspenders under a chest rig, plate carrier, flak jacket, etc... In fact, for me, it works much better because I have no ass (plenty of beer belly, though :( ) and battle belts just don't stay put on me otherwise.

IMO it really depends.

I find the Blue Force suspenders I have on my belt to be perfectly comfortable under my work plate carrier. They also worked OK with my old TT x-harness. I didn't really care for them with some other chest rigs I used to have.

I have owned other suspenders that are a pain in the ass under a plate carrier, and become an uncomfortable mess under a chest rig.

If you find a combination of suspenders/belt + chest rig or PC that works for you go for it.
In general though I think Dave is right. Most suspenders are not going to work well with most chest rigs.

I had some leave built up and went back to the states in Dec and wanted to find a good pair of suspenders for my gun belt. My last set was old and falling apart, four deployments and countless shoots! I found a great set at Wal-Mart! for only $8, they are a tan set with hooks not clips. They fit my belt and I had to the chance to sport for a month long exercise in February. We did gun drills all day long and had to wear them under my PC and with full gear. I never once felt rub me wrong or hurt at all.

I guess if you find what you like and if it works, Go for it. Mine have the feel of being around for a few years.

@KnightoftheRoc, For all the stuff on some of those suspenders do make sense. That sort of setup does make more sense to me if you are using it exclusively not in addition to a chest rig or gear on a plate carrier. I keep my mags, IFAK, water, etc on my kit.

Connecting the two doesn't make sense to me because half the benefit of the pistol belt is that you have a weapon with some ammo and a good knife even when your kit is off.

My new belt isnt ready for prime time yet, but here is a little teaser. What you see is a Vikings Tactics Brokos Belt attached to my Eberlestock pack pulling double duty as a hip belt.

Yes, I ordered it March 30th and it is still processing. I still have to order a few new pouches so that everything matches.

I use the battle belt on the bottom of my Delta 5 Camel Back. Snaps right on with the loops on the bottom of my vest.

That is a custom one-off sheath I had made by mashed cat outfitters http://www.mashedcat.com Eric is a pleasure to work with and I hope to be sending more work his way shortly.

I gave him the basic premise of what I wanted and he ran with it. It contains four separate items, fixed blade knife, multitool, firestarter and sharpening stone. The sheath is completely modular, and can function together or separately. I can remove any of the four pieces and use just what the mission dictates.

how well does the multi-tool fit in there? does it fall out much? have you tried running and jumping through the woods yet?

I carry around magical kit faeries that keep all my stuff in place. This way I dont lose anything.
In all seriousness, that multitool only comes out when you want it to. I had originally intended on lashing it in the sheath, but there really is no need. It takes a secure pull to get it out.
More info can be found in the thread I used to brainstorm it http://zombiehunters.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=88562
