ZS Mentioned in Post on CNN

Postby mariposa » Sun Apr 08, 2012 3:24 pm

I don't even like posting this link, because someone named Tracy obviously doesn't have a clue what Zombie Squad is about:
http://newsroom.blogs.cnn.com/2012/04/0 ... ent-139710

Tracy's is the first post under the article.

Tragic beyond words. And no idea who Tracy might be, but "bread and water and only sometimes milk" is not "military rations." And it explicitly states he was being "punished", supposedly, for hitting his stepmom in the belly when she was pregnant.

A lot of us prep so our kids don't so much as go hungry for a day, much less starve to death. This sounds like there's a truly messed up back story here that's got nothing to do with prepping in general or us in specific.

WTF?

What led to Tracy's comment that they might be "a zombie squad family"? What was done to that boy was very tragic. I don't know how anyone could starve their own children to death.

I just checked in on this article to see what other commenters had said and noticed two things. One, my post is deleted now and 2 is the following quote:

"Cheezer Zombie Squad is a front for Scientology. They form the core taskmasters for Sea Org.

April 19, 2012 at 10:37 am"

I put up a clarifying/defensive post yesterday. It's gone today. Not sure what's going on, but all those comments are positively fucktarded enough, and no one really reads that shit anyway, that I don't think we have to worry about it.

If you're posting as "ZS in Texas" then I'm seeing it just fine along with the response by "Just Me" above clarifying what ZS is. Nothing positive in the comments after yours though, including that bit of stupidity from "Cheezer" about Scientology. Fortunately most people know these sort of comments for the stupidity they are.

No, I posted a whole different response basically saying what ZS is and that I have no idea how our name was even mentioned in this newsfeed, and stated our "no religious discussions" rule against that scientology comment.

Whatever. It's CNN. No one gets their news from there.

Seems to me like people are either small minded, misinformed or just plain ignorant with their comments!
If they are deleting comments that defend the ZS and are valid to the posts of previous people then that is just tainted and twisted.
They say what they want to and hear what they want to and wont listen to reason or what they don't want to.
I don't know about the whole scientology thing but I highly doubt that MRE's are the only thing on everyone in ZS's list for prepping items.

I could maybe understand if they felt that comments putting down, and defending ZS were detracting from the point of the story but if that was the case it's interesting they've left comments up that spread intentional inaccuracies about ZS while deleting some that clarify what the ZS is. Oh well, take these comment sections with a grain of salt

CNN's view of the world is pretty clear. I don't think they want self reliant folks ever painted in a positive light.

Well if that's the case someone owns me some back rent and back allowance. (accoding to Wikipedia) Is there a form for that?

Yeah, CNN is sooo first Gulf War. Everybody knows Fox News is the place to see what's going on.

Judging by the head cases posting things like "starve the parents, that'll teach 'em!" I can only guess they aspire to be as 'edgy' as Fox.

This is a story from April; and the chances are good that the one posting bad remarks about us is one of the people who trolled the forums and were kicked off for it.
In my day, we didn't have virtual reality.

CNN comments are up there with YouTube comments for ratio of trolls and idiots to real people.

Who wants to bet me a C-note that "Cheezer" was either a ZODling or got banned from the forums at some point?
