Don't we?

Let us know if you see any overwhelming invasion forces building up.
I observed a Steller Sea Lion making a close-in recon patrol just this afternoon, the border is tense!
Keep us apprised of the situation, but do not endanger yourself comrade! Long live the Republic!

With communication down from EMP's how would military mobilize???
Correct me if I am wrong......

The same way we did in WWI.
"HEY. PRIVATE JONES. GO THAT WAY!"
"AYE SERGEANT!"
Also, I refuse to believe in the EMP stuff. Go read the EMP/CME threads and understand why.
Lastly, would everyone comparing IRQ/AFG to an invasion remember that within a year or so, the governments of both those countries were cooperating with us?

But the political and social make-up of the US would have to change quite a bit.
(keeping this as politically neutral as possible)
I can see our military being withdrawn from the rest of the world with just embassy guards being left over.
With our new isolationism taking full hold a call to reduce the size of the our military could be made. Little by little the military could be reduced until all we have left is the coast guard and a few maintenance personnel to keep our mothballed equipment ready to be brought back to service. (we can train anyone to do anything in 6 months or less so why have an army?)If we drop below 75,000 personnel total we are basically at that point.
Cargo freighters can be converted to hold 5,000 or more armed solders and equipment. Just 10 to 20 moving into each seaport can drop off quite a few solders.
Add in 20 Civilian aircraft each moving in 250 plus armed solders to select airports.
Add a few select tactical nukes on the remaining military bases that would have been used for training a new American army.
And on the civilian side all we need is a few new anti gun laws to be passed. The real killer would be a confiscation of existing weapons in some form for any reason. But just a banning of all weapon sales would do the same over a period of time. Can't pass them on to the kids and can't sell or trade them. All ammo/component sales stopped because of terrorist fears.
But this would take 20 to 30 years to sneak up on us.
And I can only see one nation with the will and eventual ability to pull it off. Even in 20 years.
But hey this is a fantasy idea right? Nothing to worry about for our children.

However, our Southern neighbor basically is already invading us.

How would information get to you in a WWII bunker? Shortwave? Wireless internet?

Yes, I was thinking shortwave radio. I guess the EMP would have killed the internet though...
It's an interesting topic the op made.

And then, some third force invades USA.Some coutries that were neutral, some might have even been USA allies block together and start a war with invasion.
