Yes; although I don't know if they have every model in every store. The Rebar aren't even out yet, so you'd have to wait for those to come in.

Some sites will put these items up well before they have them in stock. There were places that had them listed last summer and they won't even be released until April.

Yes they use the standard No. 11 X-acto blade.

I've had this one for the better part of a decade. The only problem is the loss of the thumb stud. Love it though. Kershaw vice grip multi-tool.

Though my Father passing someday, and hopefully many many days from now, like 15 years worth of days, will be a sad day I will be inheriting his Kershaw multitool. They do not make them anymore. It's his favorite and go to multitool for his motorcycle rides.

Of note I get all his .22 lr toys too, like 4 pistols and 6 rifles worth.

I've inadvertently been purchasing mostly Gerber stuff. I'd like to try out some Leatherman stuff though, since that seems the most popular here.

I have:
- Gerber Crucial
- Gerber Compact Sport (The old one)
- Gerber Clutch
- 2x Gerber Artifact
- Victorinox Huntsman (From the late 80's, used in Boy Scouts)
- Wenger Evolution 16 Red Swiss Army Knife

The Crucial's my EDC and the Compact Sport's been relegated to GHB storage. I've had the Crucial for 2-3 years now, and it's the perfect EDC for me, for 3 reasons - the blade's easily opened/closed with one hand, the bottle opener kicks ass, and it has a clip on it (I don't like things hanging off my belt either). I've beaten it up pretty good. It doesn't seem to be as good quality as my old Compact Sport, but I wonder if that's because it was made in China, whereas my Compact Sport's made in the USA. I liked the Huntsman and Evolution, but I just don't have the finger nails to open up any of the darn tools.

Went from EDC hero to zero in about 5 seconds the other night



Tried loosening a plug to a drain at work the other night. Pliers got a little sideways and torqued the wrong way, and snap.

Yay for 25 year warranty, will try and ship this sucker out tomorrow.

That there is the Leathernan Skeletool. The older ones had known issues with the plier jaws, although they're still not a heavy-duty tool. Was this one old enough to have the non-serrated blade?

yep non serrated skeletool. It was one of those slow motion 'I think this is gonna break' and it broke things. The plug had basically a 1x4 'tail' that was probably 1/4 inch thick. Round plug, tail sticking out for you to grab and turn. It was stuck in good, brought out pliers to try and turn it, and it was just thin enough for the pliers to twist for some reason and it snapped.

Thought I could do it with what I had without hunting down a real set of pliers (which we did after mine broke). Se la vie.

yep non serrated skeletool.

They'll replace it with a new one with the serrated blade, unless you request they repair this one on the form.

Yeah, I said repair if possible, replace is ok otherwise. I think it would be an easy switch out.

He's a cool dude. Had it rough but rode it out and finally retired at 68 and has been riding his BMWs all over the place. He is planning a Portland to Portland (coast to coast) ride next summer, he'll be 71. He says he'll hang it up after that but I think he's got a good 3-5 years riding left in him. I told him I 'aint getting a rocking chair for him until he's 75 years old.

The Kershaw MT is his favorite because it is more apt for making adjustments and turning on his bike. I told him to not lose it a few years ago after I went looking for one and found out Kershaw quit making them.

Good thread and I didn't see this one posted. I was a Bradley Fighting Vehicle Master Gunner back in my camouflaged business attire days and we Mike Golf's were among the first to jump on the Multi-Tool revolution. Loved the original Leathermans but I broke so many tools off of them it was pathetic. 25MM chain gun ate them for lunch. Then there was my Gerber original multi-tool which with the 6mm bit tool attachment went with me everywhere around the world. Still sitting next to me right now. Patent Pending. I still have scars on my thumb pad from the damn thing slipping and pinching the skin. Multi-tool love nibbles. But back then they weren't needle nosed. My all time favorite and impossible to find any more is the Bucktool because it was my first to have lockblade design and the 360 was awesome. Anyway. Good thread. If you look on Ebay you can find some MP600 at a great price used but in good shape. Or, what I recommend is looking for one of the Black OTIS IWCK's with the MP600 in it. I got a brand new one on ebay with the MP600 and flashlight for $40.

Just bought the Leatherman EOD MUT and I am about to sell it. I don't recommend it.

Just out of curiousity, what about the MUT did you not like? I am an admitted Leatherman fanboy, but I don't have a MUT (no AR-15) so I have no idea how good it is at its job. The Gerber MP-600 and its variants are the only Gerber tools I really like. I've purchased and given away several to friends, and my original MP-600 hangs around at work for when I need backup.

My all time favorite and impossible to find any more is the Bucktool because it was my first to have lockblade design and the 360 was awesome.

One of my lady friends EDC'd a Buck 360 and I hated it. I carried a Gerber 600 blunt nose at the time. Every time I borrowed her Buck for jobs calling for 2 pair of pliers, the 360 would bend at the jaws and pinch my fingers. It was a stout tool but a poor design, in my opinion.

When it says the C4 punch is replaceable on the Leatherman 831105 Black Oxide Super Tool 300. What is it replaceable with? And how much will that cost? I found one with the C4 punch but would much rather have the serrated knife. Or something else. I'm fresh out of C4 to punch.

I think it means when the punch wears out you can buy a new punch to replace the old punch.
