Aw, really? What have you heard about them? I was tempted to buy some for certain applications (wanting to have a MOLLE-to-MOLLE connection that I could rapidly mount/dismount).
For those who don't know what we're talking about: http://www.blackhawk.com/product/STRIKE ... ,74,58.htm

All are woven three times on loops on the pouch and three times on the pack loops. Can I just zip tie right above the snap to keep that from coming undone? Is this some difference in military and civilian MOLLE? All my stuff is military.

If your pouches have the strap w/ snap, use that. They suck IMO, but mostly if you have to move them, like if you're still adjusting what goes where. If you manage to wear those out, get MALICE clips. Also use MALICE clips in place of ALICE clips. I also dislike most issued MOLLE pouches/vests, I like Eagle and TT much better. Zip ties are a hold-over from ALICE clips, which were pretty long in the tooth when they were replaced. ALICE clips would often work themselves free and sometimes drop free entirely, so lots of guys would replace/reinforce them with zip ties. Kind of like dummy-cord for your LBE...
