Guess I missed it, spent the day working on my four wheeler.
I can't wait to go, now I'm just hoping I can get an AR together in time.

What happened to you last AR ?? You will have to go through Murphs' refresher class

Yah, the sights on that one were all jacked up on that thing. IIRC, Redemption either returned it or sold it off.

Umm, traded the bushy for a four wheeler and just finished my new spikes lower tonight.
I still need to order the upper but the Troy trx guards I want are out of stock. As for Murphs class... I've assembled my lower so I think that pretty much technically makes me a master gunsmith now or something. Oh and I converted my Saiga 12 so I'm like a gun God now. I should teach a class.

Speaking of Redemption, that reminds me

For the people that have not been to the Cove before. They normally lock the front gate at or around 2100 hrs., after they lock the gate you cannot get in or out with your vehicle. If you know that you are going to be later than that, please let me know ahead of time. I will talk to the office and try to negotiate a later time to close the gate, they will sometimes do that !!.

If for some reason you are going to be really really late, or you run into a snag I will do the best I can to meet you at the gate and transport you back to the campsite and retrieve your vehicle in the morning. I say try !! because cell reception is spotty at the campsite, we are sitting at the bottom of a small mountain. Up at the range you should have full bars. Anyone that needs it, I will PM you my cell number.

Directions: follow the directions on the Cove page, if you can find the Boy Scout camp, the Cove is beyond that, further up the road. You can't miss it, please stop at the office when you arrive and pay them. They will give you a map and answer any questions you have. It is a small little shack-like building where the road splits and it normally has a big pile of wood to the right of it, where you go in. I have heard from others, that GPS directions are unreliable for this location.

Gore is a very small town, maybe 1000 or so people. There is only one turn off of Rte. 50 and they have only one small gas station/country store, you can always stop and ask for directions. I will make an effort to make some signs to put up along the way but don't count on it, cause I will probally be running late on thursday, as usual !!

Too bad it is not this weekend as I am back in Virginia for a visit. If there is a movie night, I hope we can vote. If you take out the dead people that are alive except for a brain and everyone being a head shot shooter from any distance, The Walking Dead reminds me of another series called General Hospital, generally speaking. Also, you almost never see a BOB. I will try to bring films as well, including Ben Hur.
People put too much emphasis on ole’ Charlie Darwin’s theory about the survival of the fittest. It has produced a cottage industry of shake-weights, special-muscle-morphing powder drinks, and girly men that sell exercise videos. Not me.

I agree about Walking Dead, I'm not a huge fan. But it's a zombie show on TV. I'm supporting it.

If you want non Zombie movies I can always bring the Harry Potter series. :) That should be entertaining after a case of beer.

My friend stationed over in Germany just sent me some movies. He said the movies are life altering if you watch them, the one must be a comedy because it has the German word for poop in the title.

If anybody wants to carpool let me know. I am in Loudoun county via Route 7 on the way out to Winchester. I should be able to haul 2 others, maybe 3. Let me know if your interested.

Also, we will want to plan out the carpool up to the shooting range on Saturday. That place cannot hold 20 different cars/trucks. So if your planning out your packing make sure you take into account your guns. Also, this is a BYOSTS (Bring Your Own Shit To Shoot) range.

I will need to catch a ride to the top of the mountain. MY truck transmission is acting up so I have to take the exploder.

I've got a portable 80 inch screen on a tripod stand. As long as it isn't crazy windy, we'll be okay.

I'm a definite go. I'll most likely be arriving on Thursday. Has anyone been to Frederick County Firearms in Winchester? I went the other day, and while their stock was low due to coming back from a gun show, the guys were pretty awesome. I'm thinking about stopping there on the way to The Cove.

Oh, and my +1 is probably going to show up on Saturday.

Glad to have you at the Cove again. Murph is from that area and I think has mentioned that gun shop. Give him a PM and I am sure he can help you out.
