Just order 1000 rounds of Federal LE 9mm frangible ammo. I've been dying to test this stuff out against a simulated wall at the range. The theory is it will penetrate 10" on a soft target, but shatter on drywall. Once it gets here we'll put it to the test.

Silverbug, who are you hearing that theory from, because that's not what frangible ammo is for.

Yeah I thought that ammo was a "Training only" affair. Used so that they could shoot steel at close range without the danger of catching spall.

Yep, that's what frangible ammo is for. Also for ranges designated as having insufficient backstop such as some shoothouses.

Frangible bullets do have some application other than steel plates. I shoot these out of my .204 ruger for coyote and bobcat and they are devastating! They punch a tiny hole in the hide of a coyote and then basiclly liquify their insides for a instant kill, I've never had one exit the other side yet. I don't think you are going to see 10" of penetration but they will fragment on contact with drywall. They started to issue them to deputies as well, here in Iowa there are a insane amount of deer strikes with vehicles and the deputies use them for when a deer needs to be put down with a firearm on the roadside. It greatly reduces the chances of a pass through richochet while on the roadside next to cars and people.

Every time I see a tec-9, I think of that one song... Can't remember what it is called though. They scream Tec-9 a whole bunch, or maybe that was the groups name.
Thanks Anianna!
