I got some black Bulgy waffles from CDT a couple weeks ago for $32 a piece.......That's the cheapest I could find that were actually "in stock".

Also, I think (can't speak for them) they'd say it's probably better to have three steel mags than one waffle, unless you can afford to buy waffles by the dozen.

I would agree, Jeriah, buy what you can afford to order by the dozen. Either are solid mags, and ultimately a consumable item.

Also, ground the inner dimples on 3 to let the follower push all the way up to the feed lips. So far, works very well, for almost half the cost of Yugo BHO mags. Homemade BHO mod FTW!!!

What's the advantage of this BHO? It's not like there's a bolt release, and as soon as a mag goes empty you reload it right away, so it's not sitting open to cool. I don't get it.

Many do not, that's personal preference. I prefer to know immediately when I fire my last round, when I feel the bolt lock back, rather than when I hear the "CLICK" of an empty chamber. Mag changes remain the same, you just know a bit sooner, and that is tactically useful to me. My buddy modded 3 mags for testing, as I was concerned there could be damage/deformation to the follower from the bolt slamming into it. Him and a buddy tested them compared to a Yugo BHO mag, and they functioned the same, only scratching the follower's finish where the bolt catches. I was concerned that the edge might deform since these do not have a rear plate that extends to the raised area like the Yugo followers.

I want to do some more testing, but you can look forward to a thread on this mod soon.

I trust you've modded ALL of your mags, so they all behave the same? I can see the advantage of doing it your way, because having the bolt lock back really is a useful "you're empty" indicator, as long as it does the same thing with all of your mags.

We're still in the testing phase. I want to beat the piss out of these 3 mags to see if I can fuck them up first

By the time I'm done testing, I should have a job and funds to order a couple dozen of these mags for myself. I also have 2 teammates that are ordering SGL21's soon, so I'm hoping to order 50-100 mags for all of us Then we can spend a few days grinding on them and the whole team will be G2G!

I can with my AR15 for sure. Under stress, you might miss it, but I think with experience you get cued into the really subtle difference, where you feel it go back, but not slam forward again. With enough training, you'll build a reflex where you know, when you feel that half-cycle, it's time to reload. And then you get in a real fight, and everything goes to shit...but hopefully your hands remember what to do, even as your brain is freaking out.

I could always tell when I went empty with my AR, but my Sigs lockback is much subtler. Probably something to do with a spring in the stock or lack thereof.

None of the 5 AK's I had at the time would feed from these. Most consider them to be 'bottom teir' mags.

I have 5 tapco's purchased from two different sources and have not had a mis feed yet, but I really havn't cycled all of the mags yet, I only got the AK a couple of months ago so I really havn't even got the gun broken in, probably about 150 rounds through it so far.
