Calling all members/Volunteer Opportunity

Postby Bayjove » Fri Mar 23, 2012 4:50 pm

On April 21 from 8 AM til Noon, Sandy Springs Fire and Rescue and Sandy Springs CERT
will be doing a Multi-Jurisdictional Response and Recovery Drill - a full-scale response and recovery tornado drill - and they need volunteer "victims." I would really like for some chapter members to participate in this event because not only is this a great volunteer opportunity, but it can give us an idea of what goes into CERT training if any of us choose to do that at some point.

Light breakfast and lunch will be provided and we would need to RSVP our group. If you think you would like to do this, let me know soon so that I can register us.

You can find information on this from these links:

Forum thread introducing the idea: viewtopic.php?f=90&t=91643

Official flyer with more details: http://morelight.org/zs/016/Drill_Flyer_03052012.pdf

Please let me know soon if you are interested.

Captain, when you're sure you can make it, let me know how many you will be bringing, including you, so I have a tally to give to the CERT folks.

The Mrs will be gone that weekend. So perfect opportunity for me and the kids to get out. Problem is it may be to much for my 7 year old. So I'm looking for a sitter.

Heard back from the organizers and they have filled their quota of volunteers for this event so this one's out for us.

But keep on the lookout for other volunteer opportunities. I'm eager to get out there and lend a hand. Definitely bring volunteer ideas to the next meeting!
