Chapter Charity Event: Volunteers Needed

Location: Northwest Harvest

Volunteers Needed: 15 Zombie Hunters

Northwest Harvest could not do its work without the participation of many energetic volunteers. In fiscal year 2011, they donated more than 88,000 hours of time to Northwest Harvest and help us with 26 million pounds of food that we distributed to 325 independent food banks and hot meal programs statewide!

Guidelines on the day of the volunteer event:

Volunteers must wear close-toe; flat shoes...no sandals or high heels for safety. Tennis shoes are fine. Please wear comfortable, casual clothing and dress in layers. The building can be warm or chilly!

It is important that everyone arrive on time for the start of the shift. A complete orientation, including safety training, will begin promptly at the start of your scheduled shift (either 9 a.m. or 1p.m.)

The safety and wholesomeness of the food we handle is always a primary concern. Please do not come if you are sick.
We have lockers for your convenience; however there may not be enough locks available on any particular shift to accommodate each volunteer. With this in mind, please do not bring items of value to the food bank or warehouse. Northwest Harvest cannot be responsible for lost or stolen items.

Afterwards we will grab lunch as a group and possibly hit up a movie if people are interested and there is something ZS appropriate. Please post here to let us know that you will be attending. Please feel free to invite friends and family members.

Hey guys and gals,

We need more of our members to turn out for this event. It's only 3 hours. In order to maintain our chapter status we need to hold two charity events every year. C'mon guys!

We've only got four confirmed attendees. Unless we get at least ten by Tuesday, I'm going to cancel this event. I feel like we can do better than this.

Mr Sheesh: I'm not sure. If you had a tall stool, I would say yes, but I can't guarantee it.

I can bring a tall rotating stool (Harbor Freight 'bat stool', I use it in the kitchen daily LOL) easily enough. Just let me know before Saturday AM, please, I'll go if it's do-able

Seanwins, are we going to go forward with this event? I know we have a small contingent, but maybe something is better than nothing? I donot know what they need so I will leave the decision in your capable hands.

Hey y'all,

I do not see an Event Request in the queue for this event. Did you send one in?

Remember that events must be pre-approved if you're going to be representing ZS, and if you'd like it to count towards your chapter's Charity Event totals.
