I've been wondering that myself. Everyone who's read the comics keep talking about the "Governor" and "Woodbury". Seems to be connected to the prison which will no doubt consume a prodigious amount of next season.

So we now know that there's a place (town?) called Woodbury with a Governor that's a mean person and will pick on the Ricknators group? And the person that saved Andrea is this Michonne character.

The plot thickens.

Thank you, because when HB said Triumph, my first thought was Really? 'Cause it sure sounded like a Harley.

LOL yeah. my buddy has ridden old Brit iron all his life, and I watch the show at his place. He actually has to plug his ears with his fingers when Daryl rides the chop, so he doesn't start throwing stuff.

Funny part is, you hear lots of complaining about how long Dale hung on to the Pill Box- but that Winnebago would be a better bet!

Lucas electrical systems + zompocalypse = sad face

There's a reason the name Lucas, among classic Brit bike guys, is always followed by "Prince of Darkness"

If you really, really, really must know, check-out the Walking Dead Wiki page for The Governor:

I have a few predictions for season 3, but they may contain some spoilers if you haven't read the comics.

* Contains Comic Spoilers*

I have a feeling Michonne and Daryl will begin a relationship. In the comics Carol and Tyreese had something going and Michonne gets in the middle of it. So far there has been no casting for Tyreese so I think that Daryl is just taking his spot. Not only will this cause drama between Carol and Daryl, but when Merle makes a return, seeing his brother in an interracial relationship will cause even more of a divide between brothers.

I also think that the helicopter will be in the Governors possession. In the comics a helicopter crashes, causing rick and others to search for it. In the show I'm going to guess that the Governor uses the helicopter to bring survivors into his traps.

Good insight...I think there are several things that will lead to this...Merle is obviously a racist, as seen in season 1...now, has anyone else but me noticed the Nazi Storm Trooper ("SS") symbol on Daryls chopper? I think they will slowly lead up to something to the effect where all these things end up essentially pitting Merle against Daryl/Michonne.

The Bike is actually Merle's and Daryl sort of took it after his brother disappeared. Yes I had noticed the SS logo on the gas tank, and figured it was due to the bike being Merle's originally.

Seems like I was slightly too generous with my first estimate of 2 or 3 months. More likely 6 to 8 weeks passed between the time they left Atlanta until they found the prison.

Maybe I was wrong I am not sure where I thought I saw the 1 year mentioned, but later I saw them say in issue #34 it had been 5 months since things all started at Christmas time for the guy and his kid who first found Rick. So for the folks at the prison and it being spring time it has to be 7-8 months at least. Plus at that time Lori is getting big and looking pretty preggo. So I might have been off, but it is much more than 6-8 weeks.

By the time of issue #34 they'd already been living in the prison for two or three months, Hershel had already planted a crop and it had already started to sprout, and they'd already had their first run-in with the Governor.

I think you're trying to say it'd been 5 months since the outbreak started. What I'm saying is, from the time they decided to leave Atlanta.....to go somewhere, anywhere.....until the time they find the prison is only about six or eight weeks.

But either way I don't think they're going to kill off Carl on the TV show just because Chandler is getting older.

The scene in #34 is a flashback to Morgan and Duane during Christmas, with Morgan stating it had been 5 months since the Zpaw started and how he hated "stealing" stuff and not used to not paying. In issue #7 They are just about to leave the Atlanta camp the next day and Dale points out tomorrow is gonna be Christmas and Rick says not to tell anyone. Also at this point Lori is not showing any preggo belly.

So If they left the camp at X-mass Dec 25th. I think by the time they got to the prison was more like 2-3 months, since the weather was warming with winter breaking and Lori was getting her preggo belly.

Good luck. I burned through them all in a little over a weekend. Of course I was sick and had an excuse to just sit around and read.

As much as a lumbering zombie horde defines the epitome of realistic zombies and my core fear of slow zombies, the symbolistic design of wandering zombies, I cant understand Ricks' transformation (mouth breathing) much less lauroes rejection after he kills Shane when is too obv

This.
Quick side question: I'm a comic noob. Do I want the Compendiums, Books, or the Trade Paperbacks? the Books and Trade paperbacks are available past the first issue of each at my local Barnes N Noble. The books were covered in plastic, so I couldn't look inside them. The trades were in Black & White...? Is that how it's supposed to be? Again, I'm a complete comics noob.

I think it's a bit cheaper in the long run to get the trade paperbacks then the compendiums, especially on Amazon rather then the local comic comic shop

The series has me on the edge of my seat now. Highly anticipating Season 3. I can't even guess what will happen at the correctional facility. I'm not much of a comic book fan so I'm not reading the comics.

Gotta love Daryl though. That guy is badass.

Yes that has been brought up in previous pages. They were monitoring the radio at the first camp for a bit and used radios while in Atlanta rescuing Rick from the tank, and Rick used his special walkie talkies from his Sheriff station to communicate with someone who never showed up. Then they just completely leave walkie talkies out.

While maybe keeping them in batteries could be an issue, while at Hershel's farm they had power for lights, so could easily charge some FRS radios. I think mainly the lack of radios is to keep the drama going. Stupid writers would have a big problem if people could just check on everyone with radios instead of having to run around wildly at every paniced where is so in so.

Really people would think of radios pretty quick I think in the zpaw. I mean we are so conditioned to having cell phones and have immediate access to call people when ever we want, in zpaw people would think hey lets get walkie talkies or FRS or GMRS or CB or HAM. I mean really why were they not scanning the Ham bands while at Hershal's? If there were any survivors around they might be broad casting on HAM.

Another gripe I have, what about getting some fricken maps people! Find some maps, check out the local area for decent places.

IN the GN they don't bother with maps, even when they know something is in the area and need to find it. Instead they drive around hoping to find it, and luckily find a sign by a guy stopping and peeing on it knocked over. Go to a damn gas station and pick up a map.

Kirkman says in the TWD Wiki that "everything started in October 2003". So, say a month goes by before it's a world-wide pandemic and people like Morgan start "heading for the hills". That would be November.....five months later would be April '04. The Morgan & Duane short story is a major inconsistency in the GNs (or it's supposed to show that Morgan is losing his mind along with losing track of time).

But I am happy that you agree that the survivors got to the prison a helluva lot sooner than the one year time frame you originally postulated.
