Cleaning up after surplus ammo requires some hot water then some regular cleaning supplies. If you don't want the hassle, Silver Bear makes cheap, non-corrosive ammo in that caliber.
I picked up an Izzy hex receiver 91/30 at the gun show for $127 OTD. Laminated stock, matching bolt and receiver, along with all of the goodies like it was issued with. I took her and four other milsurps out Friday for some shooting. Working the bolt is work! I put five rounds through her after shooting my Chinese SKS, Venezuelan FN-49, SMLE, and my 1917 Enfield. After shooting the two Enfields, working the bolt on the MN sucked. It was till a fun day, but with all of the earlier shooting with no recoil pads in sight, my shoulder was killing me.
