Rattlecans can be fun, but don't expect perfect results.

That was half the fun.

I am looking at buying a rusted out mechanically sound truck in the next few weeks. I fully intend getting some roll on bedliner and making it mostly solid.

I think I might do my XJ with this. Do you need to sand/primer with the Spray Can stuff?

Yes, it has to be thin to come out of an aerosol can. You need to use many more coats of coverage to build up the protective layer.

Even the professionally sprayed in stuff gets applied in coats.

yeah .. its not 1/8 inch thick thats for sure. but I still love the look ... and it is much more resistant than regular paint ... if you want something that doesnt shine, resists scratches, and isnt very expensive ... I think it is a viable option.

Bedlinering entire vehicle - DIY or not?

Just went to Home De Pot and if the rustoleum bed liner test card I sprayed is any indicator, this is gonna come out great. Got a Dead-On demolition bar while I was there to keep in the Cherokee...

That is what I used.
Do a very light spray at first to make it a little tacky, dont try to do it all at once.

Lots of rattlecan experience (mostly small) and plenty of house stuff.

Nothing with a gun...so I'm leaning towards roll on. Now I just gotta find time...
The real question is, do you go into work just for the fun of seeing who's already zombified...
