Don't forget that this is ultimately a forum for preppers, and most folks here tend to be very practical people with practical motives. Taking a perfectly designed $200 Ruger 10/22, chopping it up, and spending $300+ on a useless shell that makes it 20 lbs heavier, less accurate, and more unwieldy makes no sense to most. There's a reason why most of the forum regulars don't post in these threads - they're pretty disciplined when it comes to the, "If you don't have anything nice to say..." mentality.
Take a lightweight 10/22 body and make it fire .408 Cheytac, and people will probably be more interested.
