Bomb disposal suit against zombies

Postby Sevensixtwoby39 » Mon Mar 12, 2012 4:01 am

Hello I'm quite new to zombie survival and this forum and I'm just wondering what you guys think about wearing a bomb disposal suit against zombies. I think it's clumsy and too heavy as it consists of Kevlar and ceramic but I just want to know what you guys think.

Would you lock yourself into a coffin if you were surrounded by zack?

I think essentially you'd become a giant human pinata who can't really walk far, would get swarmed and hold out for maybe twenty minutes tops before you got eaten. Then you'd be the most heavily armoured zack out there causing problems for me

Right then, lemme try this one.

Do you have an EOD suit? No.
Can you run around and do anything whilst in an EOD suit? I doubt it.
Do you know what an EOD suit protects against? Obviously not. Blast pressure+frag=/=inhuman biting.

Moved to Zombie Combat Tactics

You might get a more zombie centric discussion here, outside of ZCT and Zombie Biology reality tends to be dominant.

A Bomb disposal suit has the defence emphasised from the front, so as soon as a Zombie got behind you, you'd be much more vulnerable, and as others have said, it's designed to stop an explosion and shrapnel, not the hands and teeth of the ravenous undead.

Fit Active Duty Military guys struggling through a 5k EOD run. Their range of movement is quite limited, and they are pretty winded by the end of it.

That sucks. I did a 500m "sprint" in one of those. FML.

And when you fall on your back to protect that open area you'll look like a reverse turtle. At least you can watch the Zombies pile on you.

Thanks to y'all. :D

I do know what a bomb disposal suit really protects you against but I was just curious how it would hold up against zombies.

the shrapnel, or piercing damage, and the sudden barometric (pressure) forces experienced with chemical based explosives.

I got one, someone want to buy the damned thing? It weighs nearly 100 pounds and sucks to wear. I would rather have a full suit of aluminum chainmail. A LOT lighter and has a certain cool factor. LOL

Go with titanium chainmaille, it's only slightly heavier and significantly stronger.
