What have you bought in the last 48 hours?(firearms related)

Postby Wasteland.Soldier » Fri Mar 09, 2012 3:14 am

Got a vortex sparc that I scout mounted on my norinco sks circa 1968, with a recently purchased ATI side folding stock. At $250, the glass cost more than the rifle. Im sure they're cheaper down south, but everything except sks's are more expensive up here. Had to file the gas tube housing a bit to make it fit when I changed the stock. It nicely rounds out the tactical aspect of my SHTF setup. I roughly bore sighted the red dot and the laser sight to get them on paper. I'll finish up when I get to the range. The only pic I have is of the whole collection. Don't make fun, I only got my license in December.

Next purchase is a shotgun. Probably a maverick model 88. I like to stalk hare in the parkland around here, and I'm worried that with the warm winter we've had in Alberta, grizz may wake early.

Wasn't 48 hours ago, but my most recent gun purchase was a set of faux-ivory grips for a Colt Python. Modified them to fit my Anaconda since apparently it's impossible to get anything similar for that frame.

Buckmark over Ruger IMO definately

I bought a Insight HX120. Hate it, WAY too complicated for me, let alone getting it specifically to use in conjunction with a deadly weapon in a reactive scenario.Would have a very different opinion of it, if went simply, solid beam, strobe, off.

Yep. I'm VERY happy with the Buckmark after shooting it today. The factory trigger on this thing is amazing.

SCAR 17S mag in FDE. It was nice to see a local shop have one for less than $50, and to have an entire tub of them. Guess the shortage is over.

I dunked a bitch's head in a bucket of ice water one time when she was OD-ing on Xanax. Worked great, but there was a LOT of paperwork afterward.

Stock trigger is incredible, also the disassembly process is not a complete pain in the balls. On my MK II 22/45, figured it would take several more tries to know what I was doing, but even then, would always suck. Being that rimfire autos require some routine PM and cleaning (unlike the centerfire guns I prefer), something easier to field strip became a priority.
That was too long ago. Everyone needs a .22 pistol, and they don't cost much, finding it hard to justify not having one. A long bull barrel like on your Camper, might make it a better BOB rimfire than a Marlin Papoose/AR-7/10/22 folder etc. in the pack
Really want a PMR-30 but to think of it now, I would really like a Buckmark

Bought a Weatherby PA 459 12 gauge pump in digital camo today. $450 in Canadia. Haven't shot it yet, taking it to the range tomorrow. Looks and feels awesome. So light, great for a bear defense gun. Especially with the ghost rings, nice in the bush. It will kick real hard, but hopefully I'll get good enough with it quick and then will only need to brush up every couple of months. Unless
Grizz comes along.

PIcked up a plain jane Ruger 10/22 and a 25 round factory mag. My last 10/22 turned out to be old and rare and I sold it in order to get a RIA. Glad to have one again ..... it will get shot more than everything else.
