Apparently shotguns are completely and totally ineffective beyond 30 feet.

50% of waterfowl loads contain no actual shot. It's true. Look it up! The federal government makes the ammo companies distribute them randomly in the boxes with the real ammo as a conservation measure for the ducks.

I was just reading a Wall Street Journal article on it the other day, which is still fresh on my mind:

Everywhere you look there is ammo, always will be, so why bother buying any now? Either that or not needing a gun at all because they surely will be able to scavange one whenever the need arises. Then of coarse walk a few more feet and there will be the always available ammo stockpile.

General Rules
This forum is a community, and all communities have rules to keep them running smoothly. With that in mind we’ve compiled this small list of rules.
2.) Proofread before posting.
If it’s important enough for you to post it, you probably want us to understand it. This means using proper spelling, good grammar, punctuation, and capitals if it helps with clarity. Typos happen, but full paragraphs of misspelled words with no punctuation are difficult to read and won’t be taken seriously (if anyone bothers to read them).

You guys aren't taking into account the possibility of someone actively walking around and leaving caches behind for people, just to make the apocalypse more fun for all.
