12-Gauge, you've just reminded me of an SF short story.
Bunch of guys are on the moon and one of them has built a bow from scrap, because flights don't work in vacuum its got an attachment that causes the arrows to spin to stabilise them (theres more to the story, they end up having to climb a mountain and use the bow in order to do it. The story end explaining why theres a place on the moon called "Sherwood Forest".............Anyone else read it ?).... Over to Joerg, if anyone can its him :D

Joerg, you've taken the chu-ko-nu and eliminated the one major drawback of the design...... I am in awe

Let us say I eliminated one of its drawbacks. Now I am bound to solve the next issue... power. I am looking for at least 40 fpe, with a firing rate of at least one shot per second.

My new concept will allow me to pull back with both arms, like in a rowing motion, with the butt pressed against the middle of my chest. I want to use thick aluminum tubes with stainless steel spikes as ammo.

We will see, but probably not this weekend. I am attending IWA today, based on the kind invitation of Cold Steel. The IWA is a business to business show in Nuremberg, one of the most important international events in the arms business. I always wanted to go, but they are very strictly enforcing the no-hobbyists-rule. The personal invitation made it possible. Will make some video for sure!

Well, I think it is true, I could make a living from selling slingshots if I wanted/had to. But first, that would spoil the fun. Second, I actually like my job, plus the money is good, so no need to change things.

Back to the topic:

The pencil launcher.

I plan to make it bigger. Much. Much. Bigger.

Here is the new "ammo":

Aluminum shaft, stainless steel tip. 115 gramms.
