Blackhawk Cut Resistant Search Gloves w/ Spectra Liner Reg. $70, on sale for $12.95

Sure your BOB/GHB has ANSI certified N95 dusk masks and shatter resistent eyewear, but are you still making due with ordinary work gloves? Pffffttt.

Whether you're heroically sifting through jagged wreckage searching for survivors, or fending off the snapping jaws of a blood-crazed zombie like a real life Rick Grimes, no self-respecting ZS'er would be caught unprepared without these highly cut resistant search gloves. And at this price, you really have no excuse, so don't blame me if your nickname after the sh*t hits the fan forever becomes "Lefty."

Crafted in "grey man" full leather, these search and rescue/anti-undead force multipliers eschew the tacti-cool look for an understated, "at home in any area of operation" presentation. At the time of this post, available in S, M, L, XL and 2XL.

Just the ticket for your EDC, BOB, GHB or INCH.

Have you tried these and how well do they fit? I'm a large sized guy and typically wear L/XL gloves (6', 300lbs).

Brunton Watchband Compass: $2.98, ships free. (Reg. $6.00)

http://www.botachtactical.com/br90waco.html

Image

For us old farts who actually still wear a wrist watch and don't rely on a cell phone as our primary timepiece. Actually this should fit nicely on that 3/4" strap on your EDC bag.

1"x1"x .5", 0.2 oz. Note this bad boy shows the four cardinal points and not much else. So you won't be able to set magnetic declination or even lay out bearings on your topo maps.

But if you know heading south-southeast will eventually get you to that highway you need to find and follow, this will get the job done. Sort of like using your everyday carry weapon to fight your way to your rifle, when the S hits TF, this lightweight addition to your EDC might help you get to your BOB where your real compass and the rest of the goodies are.

Plus if you're like me and your wristwatch is, how do I say this, a little unmanly, this accessory gives it that instant badass look that's so important in times of trouble.

Edit: The Brunton 9041 Glow-Mate Compass with brass split ring is also on sale. Looks like a better than average quality zipper pull/key chain compass, offering a bit more functionality than the watchband compass above. $4.95, regularly $10.

Just as a warning to those interested in the clearance gloves by Blackhawk from BotachTactical, they run EXTREMELY SMALL. I ordered an XL and a XXL since they were dirt cheap. The XL can't even get my fingers into the glove, and the XXL my fingers don't reach the tips of the fingers, but if I try to make a fist it actually is cutting circulation to my fingers. I DO NOT recommend these gloves for that reason. Their sizing is way buggered.

Edit: Finally got my hand into one of the XXL gloves and trying to break it in some. This is going to take some time but I will use this post for an AAR with these gloves.

Edit 3.10.12 - Slightly broken in gloves, still hurts to make a fist but they will end up being very comfy. PLEASE NOTE that BotachTactical shipped EXTREMELY fast and was very quick with confirming order and sending merchandise. Highly recommend the seller.

I got the XL also. The finger length seemed alright for me, but making a fist is were I noticed across the top and bottom of my knuckles were real tight... I guess a "lot" of breaking in is needed.

$50 Danners - free shipping - free return shipping - Made in the USA.

You have to give them your email addy but it's a Danner Outlet Store.

Edit- if you go to this link
https://www.hitthebreakroom.com/invite/?r=134301
I get a $20 instore credit.

Don't want to give me a credit go here:
http://www.hitthebreakroom.com

They are running a "pyramid scam" - to offload unsold inventory. I wish I would've of thought of something like this at past jobs where I needed to get rid of aging inventory.

Unless you wear a size 9,

Click on Men's XW - extra wide

If you use my link You will need to give them an email addy to get to the pricing order page.

I just ordered a 10.5 XW and received an order confirmation.

For the most part they only have Men's Extra Wides.

I find Danners run tight so for $50 WTH!!!

They have some smaller sizes in the other widths under size 10.

2 UltraFire 18650 3000mAh 3.7 volt Li-Ion batteries + charger $14.95, eligible for FSSS.

http://www.amazon.com/UltraFire-3000mAh-Rechargeable-Battery-Charger/dp/B004LHFU62/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1331393630&sr=1-1

If you're just getting into high performance flashlights, you may or may not be aware that many run off of this less common battery format. Owning this battery/recharger combo opens up a whole world of high output weapon and personal lighting systems.

These 2 battery + charger combos typically go for more like $25 - $30, so anything less than $20 is a pretty good deal.

Be forewarned however: once you head down this path, the mundane flashlight can become a very pricey BO gear addiction!

Not to derail, but these guys our out of China and they are absolutely sh!tty to deal with. I bought 3 flashlights off of them, 2 got lost in receiving and I never got a refund or others shipped out. Took 3 weeks to get the 1 flashlight as it was. All were shipped separately.

I've ordered a lot of stuff from Deal Extreme over the years. Yes, shipping is literally a slow boat from China. Yes, stuff sometimes gets lost or never delivered but I have never had a problem getting a refund or a replacement. You have to ask though. Currently waiting on a box of stuff from them. For the prices, it is worth the wait IMO.

Thanks!

Friday, I popped into the closest Kmart to check out these bags, and easily found them, but there was no sign they were on sale. I checked the rest of the area, and found a different "Craftsman 16 and 20 Inch 2 pc. Bag Set" on sale for SIX (6) bucks! :)

Took both to the checkout, asked for a price check, the smaller ones were no longer on sale, but the six buck combo was.

It looks a lot like this:
http://www.kmart.com/shc/s/p_10151_1010 ... P?prdNo=22
The outer pockets look cosmetically different, but otherwise they appear to be the same thing.

Note that there are no internal pockets.

I was mainly looking for something with pockets for a trauma kit, but at three bucks each, I couldn't pass 'em up.

Thanks for the great tip, "bfum1059"! I would have never found this if not for you. :)
