It looked like the pistol from Daryl's bike was a 1911, but the pistol Rick hands him, seems more like a beretta, only saw it for an instant... Waitasec...

That was a Hi-Power that Carl got out of the bike's saddlebag. Merle had a stainless Hi-Power on the roof-top in Atlanta. The one Rick hands him in the preview is also known as the FN HP DA:

Speaking of T-Dog and lines, did he even have one line last night? All I remember was Rick yelling for him to get a shotgun, other than that I don't he did a damn thing the whole show.

This has gone on long enough, I'm calling Rev. Sharpton. :D

I think he had one when they were all arguing. Can't remember what it was though so it wasn't very important.

Best part of episode was Daryl rejoining group and proving again he is the true go to guy when others falter.

Biggest problem is that the writers and producers identify more with Dale and Andrea in her 'civil rights lawyer mode " than they do with those with a survivor mind set.

Randell tried to kill Rick etc. That is end of story. Daryl learned he was part of a gang rape. Double tap time. Writers though want to argue morality and humanity.

OR, since the writers have Shane giving his "do what you gotta do to survive" speech atleast twice each episode, perhaps they (the writers) are trying to say that you shouldn't go full-tard to either end of the spectrum.

I feel you, but its not accurate to say he hasn't done a single thing...

1) He petitioned Herschel to allow them to keep an armed lookout on the farm...

2) Season 1, he trekked back into harm's way to salvage a supply of guns and ammo...

3) He drilled two raiders as soon as it became apparent they posed a threat to his party...

4) He, along with Shane, organized firearms training for the group...

5) Season 1, he clapped the bracelets on Merle when Merle began to pose an internal threat to the group...

Just throwing that out there.

I, for one, enjoy that our heros are constantly making mistakes. It makes them more human. The show would get boring quick if everybody transformed overnight into cold, calculated zombie-killing machines...

I'll agree with some of those, some are a tad weak.

I admit my statement was in broad brush strokes. I still think that since they have been on the farm, he has done little to secure the area, or establish basic security measures. I'm amazed how they walk around, in and out of the woods, many times no one knows where they are. Often, they are unarmed.

They stole the name of next weeks episode from my blog-spot page!!!

Really like how Rick seems to be kicking it in full gear next episode...finally starting to see things from a "tactical" perspective. Shane get's his arse whooped by a kid (we presume)...I bet his ego is really flying off the charts now...LOL!

When did the kid get "unlocked"?

Last I saw, he was still hanging by his wrists in the barn and Daryl was there sharpening his knife when he heard Dale yelling out.

In the previews for next weeks episode...it's kind of hard to guess how long (days/hours) the next episode is from this last one, but, Dale seems to be the most likely to have done it.

Some observations,

I noticed that the men of the group use the term Brother in an almost highlighted fashion, when Rick is trying to reach Shane, I noticed that shane no longer uses the term with Rick, Daryl using it with Dale...

Despite my fondness of Dale, I was in the camp of removing the mistake, Randall should get a bullet... I forget who made the reference from Lonesome Dove, but it fits perfectly.
The boy even admitted that he witnessed rape, and you could see that it ate at him, but apparently not enough to leave.

Sorry, kid... You ride with rapists and raiders, your ARE a rapist and raider...

It appears as Daryl is pretty much the right arm of the group now, he does what the group wants done, doesn't argue the point, and although, I'd like to see him weigh in on issues more (it could be possible, that he simply doesn't care, or like Hershel, leaves it up to Rick to decide) he does what needs to be done.
Shane used to fill this position, but has gotten to the point where he debates, or undermines everything Rick says... In earlier episodes, especially season 1, he would argue, but in front of the others, back Rick's decision.
Daryl is a man of action, ie; make a damned decision and lets get it done... right or wrong, because not making a decision is probably worse.. and as such, he is probably the best chance of survival this group has.
Rick seems to be reclaiming his balls, except for the fact that his decisions are weighted down and muddied by a son who appears to have grown pretty cold... He's gonna have to deal with wesley, err Carl pretty damn quick... If not for his family, then for the group.

and T-Dog... I've said it how many times? GIVE THE GUY SOME DAMN DIALOGUE!!!

I hope when Shane is gone, (Spoiler; In the listing of DVD extras on the season 2 Blue Ray box set, one of them lists Shane's last episode...) that the whole "as my stomach turns" soap opera drama will die off... After all, simply surviving in a zombie infested apocalypse, should be drama enough....

And to everyone who is frustrated to hell and back over the group...

Someone is coming next season that you might enjoy...

Image

With the way the characters are diverging from the graphic novel, and the quality of the actor that will be playing the governor....

Season 3 is gonna be mighty interesting.

I'm not tracking...... How did Dale unlock the kid when he (The Kid/Randall) was shown still hanging up in the barn with Daryl just a few feet away, while Dale was being attacked out in the field?

Which one of the twin boys in the GN started going serial killer, Billy? You don't think they may start showing some of that behavior in the TV show, except with Carl, since he's the only little boy around?

My shot in the dark prediction for next week is as follows:

Shane sneaks the kid out of the barn and tells him to fight him for freedom. Lets him take a few shot at him and the kills him and hides the body. Then when the rest of the group discovers the kid missing he shows up beat up and saying that the kid has escaped and is a huge threat. He will use the perceived threat of both the kid and the roving gang to distract the group. He leads the men out to the middle of no where on a wild goose chase. Then he attempts to disarm them in and take charge of the group, something you told Andrea he was planning on doing at the beginning of this weeks episode.

That is my shot in the dark prediction.
When I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I take along Samuel Colt...
