It's an A&K MKII SAW. I'm going to try and reuse the barrel as a shroud. I still have the handguard since I swapped it out for my tri rail

I have almost all of those guns too. But real ones. Not a flame, but why waste your money on props instead of buying something heavier? I am guessing for all that you paid on that stuff you could have purchased a real SOCOM M14.... :?:

Gotcha. Very true, you can shoot all day for under $20. :!:

yes sir. shoot cheap, have fun, make friends, and show off something unique

also i doubt we can shoot an M60, M249, Barrett M82 and Barrett M99 in California. and i dont have to go by the restricted centerfire AW laws using CA bullet buttons because theyre all rimfires. another big plus.

@ OP: I like the look of what you've done so far.

This is very similar to what I was interested in pursuing for one of my ruger 10/22's, but I ran into some problems:

A) Is there any concerns about melting plastic from extended or continual use?

B) Have you used any heat shielding or heat sinks between the rifle and the plastic to help mitigate barrel heat (and prevent melting)?

C) How many rounds (on average) can be fired in what timespan with the airsoft clamshell attached before melting becomes an issue from barrel heat?

no concerns in melting plastic due to heat. does the 10/22 barrel get hot? im in california so we're limited to 10 rounds max and we cant do rapid fire at all.
i havent had the chance to fire any of the conversions yet because ive been buying more stocks and gutting them.
other people that i know with these types of shells had no issues with melting from the heat.

i dont plan on using heat shields because i dont think it will melt. also majority of my stocks are made of metal.
